Predict 2008 Shanghai

Andres

G.O.A.T.
Gasquet out, Tsonga out, Murray in, Nalbandian in.
Karlovic misses the final spot, ranked #10 :D

While we're at this, can I please get the Power Ball numbers for the next drawing?

But, I also predict that Roddick will take the French Open title without dropping a set. *If anyone can't find the sarcasm in this statement, tough nut*

ANCIC ???

Ancic is a LONG shot, I know, but I can only hope. Nalbandian might also be up a bit more. Does anyone else acknowledge that, despite current and recent rankings, the 4 definites are fed, rafa, djoko and RODDICK

I think Murray in place of Ferrer and Nalbandian for Tsonga. But we have yet to hear from Mr. Tsonga. Lets see what happens at Indian Wells.

What do you think

I think you were a hungry Roddick fan :)
Back on topic Federer,Nadal and Djokovic could be either no.1,2 or 3.
Roddick will be way behind them, somewhere between no.5 and 8.
Davydenko, Ferrer, Nalbandian and Murray are my other picks to complete the top 8.

Umm... I wouldn't put Roddick too high up on that list... 1st, 2nd and 3rd seem to be cemented quite well.

I dunno about Tsonga. I doubt he'll make it.

And I'm questioning Davydenko, too. Is this the year the boring Russian slides a little?

He needs to work on his serve. Gets a very high percentage in but low winners. Better percentage of winners on his 2d serve. Maybe he should just serve his 2d serve? Anyway, needs work with serves.

I am just taking a shot that Nadal won't have a good year in clay and Wimby. When I say he won't have a good year, I mean that he won't win all the clay court events and he'll lose some minor matches and one masters series.

Yep, ok. Nadal made the SF of the Aussie and still has Indian Wells (defending champ), Miami and the clay season coming up. I thought Fedfans were over the top in their predictions. But Roddick fans have brought it to a more delusional level.

8. i'm really hoping moya has a one final push left in him. he's playing pretty close with the rest of the top 15 and can rack up the points if he has fairly consistent results. he's my dark horse or shanghai. if not, then im going with youzhny for the final spot.

Man, you need to sit down, drink a beer or something and chill out. This is supposed to be a fun site for people to talk about tennis. This is a thread where people are sharing their predictions and it should be lighthearted and without malice. So many of your posts are argumentative or antagonistic, actually like every single one I've ever read. Maybe you need to take a break.

Here are my Shanghai participants in no Particular order:

Fed, Nadal, Djoker, Roddick, Murray, Tsonga, Davydenko, Gasquet

There are a couple of darkhorses in there, but I'm tkaing my chances.

you're taking no chances! let's make it more interesting- 5million Zim$ says you're wrong. :)

seriously though, I think Tsonga is a streak player who may need another year before he's top 8. I would put in Nalbandian instead of him. Murray is gonna have to be a little less up and down too to be top 8. Karlovic for the win!

Dang it! Was I that wrong?! :) hah. I would love to see Karlovic at the masters cup. I think it would be awesome to see a big guy just mashing people around the court with his serve and his forehand. It would be a nice changeup to the way the game is being played right now.

He lost at ATP Hamburg and he played in shanghai 2007 though! Was not it a good year? Come on! ;)
