Predict Federer's new specs thread.

I know there will be millions of threads in the future asking what Federer's racket specs are on his new stick. Probably when Wilson decides to release the new line and fans want to have the same set up as Fed to see how Fed likes his racket to feel.

Ok, would the shrewd posters like to have a guess on the exact spec of Fed's new stick and post it here? At some point we should get the almost exact spec and will be able to praise the winner(s) for their knowledge of racket technology!

Some may say that his specs are identical to his previous racket and that would be fine. I guess I'm looking for specs that can be verified relatively easily in the future. So balance, static weight, strings and tension.

Here's my guess;

Strung; 12.8 ounces (They'll announce 12.5), 8 points head light, 67 stiffness, of course 98 square inches.

To me it looks like a blade, but heavier. It's go to feel like a PS, a 98 sq inch PS.

I wish they'd release the thing, they'd sell a million of them overnight.

I'll say the retail model ends up being 98", 65 stiffness, 7 pts hl, 12.2 oz strung... Fed's actual will have some more weight on it.

the racket Fed plays with will be: 98", 16x19, 12.75 oz, 6 HL, with 355 SW.

the retail racket will be 98", 16x19, 12.25 oz, 8 hl, with 325 SW.

All strung specs.

The one Wilson would sell a ton of should be 98", 16x19, PWS, 11.5 oz or less, 6 HL, 325 SW strung. This allow you to play it stock or tweak it up and still have 12 oz racket with high SW. This one would sell tons.

People who want that feather weight can buy the Blade 98.

Give people what they want, a 12+oz, 7+HL.

Shouldn't Federer's racquet be 9-11 points HL.

Why would he be going down in HL points..like 7 pt HL....Federer would never play with an HL racquet unless it's 9+

Rogers always has played with a very HL racquet 9+ so the weight of the racquet is mostly on the handle/butt end. The beam of the racquet better be 18mm or less I would love to see 14-16mm beam in the future.

I guess Fed probably wouldn't want the racket to be heavier than his ps 90....then I would guess that means a bit more weight in the hoop to get the same stable feel on a bigger head? So I'm thinking he will stay at 364g but with a slightly more head heavy balance than before

I think there is a racquet out there with pretty much Roger's specs, the Kennex ki5 PSE. At the very least, it will be way closer to the specs of Roger's new racquet that the one Wilson puts out there.

I have always wanted to try this racquet, but I committed to the head extreme pro just before I found out they sold a racquet that heavy and solid. Have you played with it?

it looks very much like the blade 98. is there still a PWS? i don't see it in photos.

Lol be careful where you ask this question because some people on TT get very snappy about it for some reason.

Yes there is a small PWS on his racket that's probably why you haven't noticed it.

I figure the specs are more or less on point with what he was using with the 90. Could be a little lighter though.

It will be specially rounded in the hoop with a 34 cm balance,

345 gram static weight and a SW of 420,

it will help him to stay rock solid on his feet:

Remove the PWS and 6 string bridge, add a leather grip and OG (roughly +15g), and that's basically what a Blade 98 is. The SW is even a bit higher than this on the Blade.

The PS90 being 12.5oz, I smell something of about 12oz strung more or less. Similar specs or slightly tweaked to be a PS90 in a 98in² clothing.

I agree. My guess is that it should be a bit lighter and more head heavy than his ps90
