Predict the male and female slam winners (and finalists) of 2018

Sure. I'm terrible, but let's try.

Australian Open: Winner- Djokovic, Runner up- Nadal, First Alt RU- Wawrinka, Second Alt RU- Dimitrov
French Open: Winner- Nadal, Runner up- Djokovic, First Alt RU- Thiem, Second Alt RU- Wawrinka
Wimbledon: Winner- Murray, Runner up- Federer, First Alt RU- Djokovic, Second Alt RU- Querrey
U.S Open: Winner- Djokovic, Runner up- Dimitrov, First Alt RU- Federer, Second Alt RU- Shapovalov

Fed's 2017 may be surprising for you since you counted him out. Not for Fed fans who have been watching him from 2003. Fed has been knocking the doors from 2014-16 consistently and Novak was the one who was stopping him. Not Rafa. Fed is the favorite for Wimb next year even if he loses R1 at AO and does not play FO.

Fed will play a limited schedule and avoid clay - he will keep himself fit for Wimbledon. He has always been extremely smart with his scheduling.
Federer will be 37 next year. Thirty seven. Y/O.
That's like MegaGigaSuper number in terms of doing competitive sport not to mention performing at the highest level. We are reaching almost unseen territories now in this regard.
Even 2014-2015 Federer, now from this perspective looks like spring chicken compared to 36-37 y/o Fed.
Him winning slams at this age is an exception not a rule, and whoever thinks that he will continue to win slams back-to-back and left and right as a 37 y/o is very delusional.

In general, what I feel is that 2018 WTA can get really exciting. We will have Serena, Azarenka and Sharapova back. The magic four US semifinalists, Ostapenko, the FO winner. And all this to mix up with Muguruza and the rest o top 10 WTA players.
That looks like a goog mix!

Fed won Wimb without losing sets.

Fed won AO battling 3 5 setters

He is GOAT and GOAT's can do the unthinkable every time

RG: Nadal vs Thiem final: Nadal wins
Wimbledon: Fedr vs Cilic final: Fedr wins
USO: Nadal vs Dimitrov final: Dimitrov wins

Wow.Only few people predicted accurately here.I still cant believe people really put Nadal and Djokovic as winners of AO.

So much wishful thinking. Nice that Federer squashed they’re dreams including that clown repeating that Federer won’t win 2 GS because he will be 37. One down, one more to go.

Look at these band-wagoners and wishing thinking people predicting Rafa def. Novak AO final just because of that ridiculous path to the USO title.

AO: Nole > Rafa > Roger > Andy > Dimitrov
RG - Rafa > Nole > Thiem > Andy > Wawa
Wim - Andy > Roger > Nole > Cilic > Dimitrov
USO - Nole > Andy > Zverev > Roger > Kyrgios

Wishlist:
AO: Roger > Andy
RG: Thiem > Wawa
Wim: Roger > Kyrgios
USO: Kyrgios > Zverev

Pleasantly surprised to see Roger proved me wrong, though I list 5 players exactly because except for RG the edge in the other slams is not big enough to say someone is a huge favorite.

Nole will be fine imo. He's shown he will be a factor once healthy and confident, and could easily have made semifinal at AO (though Fed would have beaten him).

Sad to see Andy couldn't even play, hard to see him being a factor this year, hope he has a couple of deep slam runs left in his career.

Sad to see Wawa struggle on his return, hope he has a couple of deep slam runs left in his career.

Btw, my wishlist has changed. A Thiem-Chung and Shapo-Delpo finals at RG and US look much better now.
