Predicting a Federer-Murray final

I hope Djokovic proves me wrong, but Murray is looking in very sharp form in this tournament and Federer is playing much better than Nadal. I can see Nadal going out in the Quarters and Djokovic losing to Murray.

Nadal seems to be through the danger-zone now. He was vulnerable in the first two or three rounds and has dropped sets in all three matches. But now I think the courts are hardening up and Nadal is getting used to grass.

It's looking more and more likely that Fed will meet Nadal in the semiis. Only Raonic (about to beat Kubot in straights) or Nishikori (struggling against Bolleli) can stop this. And then you have to favour Nadal, but Federer will have his chances on grass.

Nadal isnt going to win this event. His movement isnt explosive anymore. Thats why ı feel he will never win Wimbledon again. Maybe USA 2010 type of serve and shot making might help him but ı see no evidence of it yet and it is too late now. Rafa cant win outside of clay GS titles with his B game. This only happens on clay. There is no such dominance going on his game.

How do you know Kyrgios won't beat Nadal? The man has titanium balls of steel and NO FEAR of the top players. He is going to be number one in the next 2-3 years.

This is his first Wimbledon, he's 19 years old, and is going up against Nadal in a 5-set match. His ranking is 144. I mean, come on.

Kyrgios has shown he is not a mental midget and Nadal has dropped sets to 3 dangerous players with big weapons. Kyrgios has a huge serve, a powerful forehand, and a winner's mentality. I'm calling it baby.

Nadal is in the worst form of all the Big Four at the moment. Murray, Federer, and Djokovic have displayed better form thus far.

With every passing match, the surface becomes easier for Nadal. Kyrgios is ranked 144. He's not beating Nadal.

I have firm belief in my boy Kyrgios. He will get the job done, and if he doesn't, he will expose the fact that Nadal is not an invincible machine on the grass courts of SW19

Kyrgios also does not play like someone who deserves to be ranked 144th in the world. Right now, he has the game to be a consistent winner in the Top 20.

He's praying for Kyrgios to beat Nadal. I'm sure he won't bet his house or TTW account on the young Aussie beating the world's best player.

Sorry you get one star for this thread.

Why are even Novak's fans underrating Novak so mush and are so biased against Novak and pessimistic.

You don't see Murray fans predicting Novak - Fed finals
or Fed fans predicting Nadal - Djokovic finals
or Nadal fans predicting Novak - Fed finals.

Murray is looking better than Djokovic and Federer is looking better than Nadal. They are more natural grass court players.

Fed is a natural grass court player and Rafa isnt 2008 Rafa. Fed has every chance to beat Rafa if that match happens.

Well, I hope you are right, I really do, but Roger chances against Nadal have nothing to do with his prowess on grass but with his mental state when he faces Nadal and how it effects his game.

I can see Roger in the final, but only if Nadal looses in the next 2 rounds...

Roger is not lasting 5 sets against Nadal and Nadal will do everything possible to extend the match.

From what I have seen from Roger this year, his level declines severely when the match goes into 3rd hr. of play.

So Roger would have to do it in 3 sets, maybe short 4 sets even on physical level against any player never mind Nadal.

Even if Roger gets to a final, I can not see him winning against Murray (my pick) or even Djokovic because he just can not do it in 5 set matches.

2012 was long time ago for someone Roger's age...

I think Nadal is getting tougher to beat with each round and Centre Court is getting worn down well. He's got three wins now and his confidence seems to be returning at Wimbledon. As far as his game, he is hitting hard serves again too and he can generate some big shots especially off the forehand. At this point, I'm not picking anyone to take him out, yet he's still got a lot of work to do and he could still lose yet it's certainly not a foregone conclusion that he'll get upset. Murray is playing really well now too.

It does not matter how much better Federer is playing than Nastall. He can not take 5 sets off Nastall, period. He might have a prayer if he executed my game plan for him, but he won't be doing that game plan. He'll play his normal game and Nadal will be screaming like an elephant on fire, gritting his teeth and muscling forehands with 80 trillion revs that echo throughout the hallowed lawns.

Nadal desecrates Wimbledon.

He only needs 3. And he can get 3 off Nadal at Wimbledon.

Can you let us know, please:

1) what your plan for Roger defeat of Rafa is?
2) why does not Roger take you ideas on board (I guess you have not got his phone/email?)
3) why do you think that your plan is any better than all other plans proposed and discussed on this forum and surely suggested to Roger by his coaches (unless you think they were/are idiots who could not come up with cunning plan)?
4) what are you drinking or smoking? We need some of this to get our shots spinning at 80 trillion revs and echoing around lawns (sorry, just sand filled carpet in case of my humble tennis club)

I don't see Fed making the final, sorry. Fed's best hope was an early exit from Nadal. That ship has sailed (and made even more unlikely by Nadal's draw up to semi).
Nadal is good enough to drag Fed to a 5th even if Fed played out of his mind and I'm sure no Fed fan wants to read my estimation of Fed's chances in a 5th vs Rafa. Let's just say it would be extremely low and leave it at that.
Ok, all this being said, there is actually 1 chance left for Fed and that's having the match played with the roof closed. That is the one thing that would leave an opening for him (to get it done in less than 5) IF he also played consistent and inspired- and served like a demon (as opposed to weary old man intermittent lapse syndrome)
