predictions for 2007?

If Federer wins AO, then he may win FO, otherwise he won't.
(Reason: Fed played well in clay court circle and went for FO win in 2006 because he was very confident after winning AO. In 2005, he lost AO and clay court perf. was ordinary)

If Federer wins FO, then he definitely wins Wimbledon easily. Otherwise he will struggle to win.
(Reason: The loss at 2006 FO hurted him. In Wimbledon final, he should have demolished Nadal. But he was not so confident. Otheriwse how could Nadal serve for 2nd set at 5-4 and win the 3rd set)

Federer wins US open because he takes rest after Wimbledon and comes firing on all cylinders and wins US open.
(He was never troubled at US open. Sometimes he gives sets to Roddick or Blake. But just when the going is tough, he rises his level up and that's the end for the other player).

But then, these are all predictions

W- Fed vs Hewitt/Roddick....depends on draw
USO-Fed vs Safin/Hewitt....depends on draw

The AO will be by far the best tourney of the year! Look for Safin and Hewitt to make some noise. Also Nadal will be back in form. Also Blake will be playing well after a good performance at the TMC and a great year this year. But then you have all the young guns like Gasquet and the bunch that could make some noise. But in all I think that if Fed plays like he did against Nadal and Blake in the TMC he will win with ease.

Wimbledon: Federer def. Roddick (Roddick wins 1 set but Fed is too good)

Looks like a lot of people massively overestimated Roddick's ability.
Joker broke through and surprised a lot-no one was even considering him for any slam finals at the beginning of the year. Nadal broke a few hearts by winning the F0 again against a lot of peoples wishes and reaching the WImbledon final against everyones expectations.

Yeah, I'll have to agree there. If anything, Federer showed at the Masters that Roddick still has a long ways to go before fantasizing about beating him.

Sorry to say but even if Roddick had a chance at beating Fed, it would not be at Wimbleton. It would be at the Aus or US Opens, however, that's not going to happen either. I'd be surprised if Roddick makes a Slam Final. I see Roddick winning a couple MS, but no slams.

No way Hewitt makes a slam final, let alone 3. Obviously a delusional fan.

2008 I think Fed can win all 4 or 3/4 with Rafa taking RG once again. They are just too dominant. I really want to see Fed get his career slam though.
