When he plays in Brisbane next January, I believe that would have been at least 10 months since his last competitive match vs Somdev Devvarman.

Will he come back with a bang or will his come back be like it was in 2011 when he climbed to 11th in the world?

How will he fare at Grand Slam level? will it be 4th round and less or more?

Will he win titles?

What's the bet he'll win the come back player of the year?

I'll leave a poll with this thread but as a fan I'm looking forward to seeing him play.

This is what he's capable of:

Normaly after such a long lay off I would say top 20 but Del Po have been in this kind of situation and now he bounce back even better than 2011 + I expect a decline for most of the bottom top 10 so my prediction is 6-12 position if he remains healthy during the season + a Slam SF at the Us Open.

His last match took place on 24 February 2014 against Devvarman in the 1st round of Dubai. He retired after losing the 1st set on a tie-break.

I think it will be gradual like it was then. He is currently ranked #144 in the world so he will be up against top seeds in the early rounds of most tournaments he plays until he can get his ranking back to respectable levels. However, it is not as bad it was in 2011 when he had fallen out of the top #400. Everything will depend, of course, on a smooth return to full match fitness.

After his 2011 return, it took him 2 years before he made another Slam semi-final (2013 Wimbledon).

Will he win titles?

I think he will definitely win some smaller ones at least.

Though he's been out of match play for nearly a year, my guess is that he'll come back quickly than we realize. He just injured his left wrist this time around, so he may have been practicing rigorously with his forehand, serves, and volleys (some of these use a bit of the left hand, yes, but not as the primary hand involved).

Doesn't he have a protected ranking because of injury, so technically speaking he's like 7th still? From ATP website "To have eight Grand Slam champions, five of the world’s top 11 men – as well as Juan Martin del Potro with an injury protected ranking of No.7"

Anyways I think he will do well in 2015, maybe he'll need 2-3 months to get his mojo back, but I believe he'll be at the WTF come year end.

Well, his official ranking is currently #138 according to his ATP profile. Maybe tournaments will give him a protected seeding?

He's too good not to get back into the Top 10, and usually plays a lot of tournaments to boot - which gets him more points.
He was back up to his career high ranking of Number 4 again before injury knocked him back, will be hard to achieve that level but achievable with him.
We'll see how he fairs after Brisbane and Sydney - which he is listed to play in both.

He has not come back to play yet and since a long time ago the press from Argentina is writing about if he will play Davis Cup or not, and asking to the authorities of Argentina Tennis Association. I hope he will play the tournaments he wans to play. I think he can he can have a year even better than 2011, maybe he would even win a Grand Slam tournament.

Getting back from injury is difficult, the hardest part is having the confidence in your body and playing without tentativeness. This is why Murray has struggled this season, he's probably weary of throwing his body around 100%.

That said, I think a left wrist is a better injury than a back, so we should see him confident behind his forehand and movement at the least. Tennis needs The Tower. I would love to see a strong NishiPotro rivalry in 2015.

Top 5, will win a slam in 16 though, not next year.

This depends on if he stays injury free though. Could see him have a tilt at WTF perhaps.

Gets back into the mix of things, ends between 20-10 in the rankings.

Another wrist injury could signal retirement. I wish him a healthy 2015. Everything else will be a bonus.
