President of French Tennis Federation "Dare Not Imagine" Roland Garros Cancellation

French tennis federation chief Gilles Moretton told AFP on Wednesday that he "dare not imagine" Roland Garros being cancelled as France continues to struggle to contain *****-**.

"At the moment, we are on track, the tournament is on the scheduled date (May 23-June 6)," said Moretton.

"But if we are told a general confinement for two months, we will necessarily have to take measures -- the worst being the outright cancellation, but I dare not imagine that."

Roland Garros cannot be cancelled. Nadal needs that tournament to reach #21.

Just move this thing to a safe environment like Australia or Dubai and be done with it. Another unilateral autumn postponement without the ATP consent like last year would be deadly for the Tour.

If it wasn't cancelled last year, then it's not being cancelled this year

I honestly hope it gets canceled so Nadal stays at 20 and give Novak a chance to achieve GOAT titles

If RG is cancelled and Djokovic wins WB, all hell will break loose.

Novak by the end of next year might be holding the slam record

I think he's actually saying it won't be postponed, or at least that this is not the intention ... unless the government intervenes ... which is doubtful.

Worst case is that Roland Garros will be played without spectators. But there is 0.000% chance of cancellation. It will be played.

The only question is whether Fed will be attending Rafa #21 on court ceremony.

It depends on whether the court will be covered in the Swiss Flag as the Brand Ambassador struts his stuff.

There will be no Swiss flag in Paris, silly.

Fed's big fat ego will not miss the opportunity for the spotlight but it will be bittersweet as Rafa will have just shattered his record, leaving the hapless Fed to soon be just a footnote in the dustbin of history.

Your little fat friend is in the dustbin of history so it's full up at the moment.

ITF S700 - BOURNEMOUTH to be French Open instead.
20 courts, same as RG, no spectators so capacity irrelevant.

At worst it gets delayed, no way it is not being played. Also clay season is upon us now if they want to make the decision to cancel, it would have been done by now. At worst, another delay, but it is being played for sure.

I would be sad if it did not go ahead but I am sure they will just do it as soon as they can even if other tournaments are playing.
