Press Conferences

I'm sure you guys read transcripts of press conferences.... or watch their videos.

We often critcize these players for short tempers and sarcastic comments in their press conferences. Has anyone noticed how much these players get asked about OTHER players? I think if I was continually asked about how great my opponents are playing or what I think they'll play like in this or that match, I'd get a little PO'd too. What am I, their press agent?

I don't know the tennis writers... but they don't seem like a very creative bunch. Maybe some of you know some of them. They seem to antagonize players with questions more than they honestly want information. I doubt that's their goal, but they must realize it. Why continually ask a losing player to comment on how great the winning player was playing? The focus is on them, not on their analysis of other players.

I've completely given up reading about tennis in the newspaper because most writers are so clueless. I'm guessing most of the journalists at these press conferences aren't avid tennis fans, and a lot of idiotic questions get asked because they don't really know a lot about the game and/or the players.
