Prestige 2.0 - three nerdy questions

Sorry if these questions for our @TW Staff have been addressed, but I'm not seeing any threads on the new Head Prestige Classic 2.0.

1. Does the 2.0 have the same suspension grip 'system' as the old prestige classic/tours?

2. Is this an actual 93 square inch head rather than the 89.5 it was back when the classic was first made (because Head measured the head size from the outside of the frame)

3. Are head going to make new cap grommets available for the 2.0? Following on from the question above, this will be good to know if these can be put on old Prestige classics as they're very pricey on ****.

Cheers to any who any who can answer.

1) No, it has a normal TK82 palette, no suspension grip.

2) I electronically measured the head size to be exactly 89.5, but it's a BS rumor that 93 is published because Head measured from the outside of the frame. The head size measuring from the outside of the frame is actually 104". This "outside the frame" thing just got repeated enough to become the ingrained explanation.

3) TW says grommets early 2024.

1, The Prestige Tour had the suspension grip while the Prestige Classic has traditional pallets. Therefore the Prestige Classic 2.0 has traditional pallets.

2. Headsize is the same as the OG Prestige Classic of 89.5

3. According to TW there will be replacement grommets next year.

Would like to know how do you measure the head size (or any other irregular surface for that matter, I guess) electronically. I know there are devices that can do this, you draw a contour and it displays the surface enclosed. I think I was told at college that there are even analogue ones (which I find very interesting), but can't remember its name or how to get one.

Well it's a combination of manual and electronic. I've only gone to the trouble for a few racquets I was really curious about, i.e. the PC600 and PT280 and I used a flat ground pencil to trace the inside of the (unstrung) frame over a sheet of paper, scanned the dotted/dashed outline, imported the image into CAD, drew a smooth curve over the outline, and then scaled the size of this shape to the exact LxW measurements I took off the frame. CAD will list the area. PC600 is 89.5 (as generally understood), and the PT280 is actually a 95.

That’s great work. I need to do this with my Völkl racket because I’m convinced it’s smaller and a very crude measurement using a 0.785 sum did suggest it was smaller than the 98 as advertised. Anyway, cheer again to all above.

I used a very similar method (that I read in another thread), drawing the profile of the inside of the head on a cardboard rectangle. Then measure and weight the rectangle, crop the profile, weight it as well and find its area by proportion with that of the rectangle.

By the way, I found the name of the device I was talking about earlier: planimeter. Some go for over 1,000 bucks but I found some good-looking ones in pawn shops for as little as 90$ (at least here in Spain).

What is a 0.785 sum??
The fastest and simplest approximation I normally use is (height) x (width) x (pi) / 4. It can be a little off in "strange" head shapes like the Yonex, but usually in rounder shapes it's accurate under margins smaller than 1 sqin, even if the larger width is not perfectly centered.
