prestige mid but large head size

I am currently playing with a youtek prestige mid. I really like the frame but wish it was a 95 or a 98 head size. What current racket comes close to it as far as specs go? I am a 4.5 player with a good overall game. Nice head light glance, 12 oz strung, 18x20 string pattern, should have a nice flex and not overly stiff. I want those specs in stock form.

youtek prestige midplus? or you could go to the dark side w the XT prestige MP.

yonex g tour 330 is a wee bit stiffer and higher SW. same for RF97. neither an 18x20.

the new wilson ultra tour will be 18x20 but lighter.

babolat pure strike 18x20 and wilson blade 18x20 are lighter. prince textreme 95 is good one but a little lighter and 16x19.

wilson has reissued the 6.1 18x20 which is worth a look. beefy weight and SW, though.

and of course angell ...

I think IG Prestige MP is about the only one that you will like if you really like the Youtek Mid. From the current line up, I am not sure what plays like the Prestige Mid. You can try the GXTPMP? Or, maybe wait for the Graphene Touch Prestige MP.

The one I would like to recommend is the Blade 98 18x20 CV, which is awesome, but you might not like the balance. I usually like frames that are tight patterned & heavy with very HL balance, like the Prestige Mid and MP. With Blade 98 18x20, I adjusted to the balance right away and have enjoyed it immensely since. I also have the 16x19 pattern, which is the pattern I normally shy away from, but this version feels like it offers similar control with much better pop. I can hit out more confidently with the 18x20, but I can noticeably feel more power with the 16x19. How about Graphene Speed Pro Touch?

how do you play with these? I tried to play with the CV 16x19, but I just couldn't.

Old options.. Dunlop [200 18x20] or [300 Tour (with lead)]
4D or Bio generation
Dunlops bash with that kind of control and feel

how do you play with these? I tried to play with the CV 16x19, but I just couldn't.

I was spraying the balls all over the court initially, but I find that it's a great racket to play aggressively. Same goes with the 18x20 pattern, too. Initially, the balance and power threw me off, but within minutes I was able to dial in on both patterns and have played some of my best tennis with them. I can barely notice the difference between the two, except that the 16x19 pattern has a lot more pop & power.
I like the fact that the new Blades are really easy to maneuver, feel and look awesome and offer much more power than the previous version, imo. To me, especially the 16x19 pattern, the Blade CV's reward hard & fast aggressive type of swinging style.
I can see, though, how some players would not like the "muted" feel. I actually like the muted feel, so it works out great for me. I prefer the feel of the new Blades, even over the Textreme Tour 95.

What about the prokennex Ki Q+ tour pro(325)? It has nice HL balance, 12 oz strung, 18x20 and 98 head size. Anyone played with it?

I actually think old 18x20 Dunlop rackets have a very similar feeling to Prestige Mid, with a bigger head.

Muscle Weave 200G if you like 95's, Aerogel 300 Tour if you want to go bigger - I have a weighted up (lead and leather) 4D Aerogel 300 Tour in my bag, and the racket plays very Prestige-like, but more forgiving

So the CV 16x19 is your "go to" racquet now? I may revisit it again. The last time I tried it, the demo was about 11.9oz 2-3pts HL. Pretty off spec

Mine is off spec as wel, which made it feel like swinging RF97 at first. I switched out the grip with Wilson leather grip and put on Wilson Sensation overgrip for achieving slightly more HL balance. Initially balls flying every where, but it actually took only a little more time after that for me to adjust and got comfortable. It definitely rewards full & aggressive swing.
I honestly really love the cosmetics so much... That's a major plus for me.

I am on the Angell website. When I am building the custom specs, are the specs strung or unstrung? For example, the stiffness says 66 RA. If that's prebuild stiffness, what would be the stiffness after the racket is built and strung? Also the balance. if it says 10 pts HL and unstrung, what would be the balance after stringing? 6 Pts HL? Knowing these are important before ordering. It appears they are unique in feel? They resemble like Donnay frames but I hope they don't play that way.

Approximately 64-63 ra and 7 - 7.5 pts HL

All specs are unstrung. They play nothing like Donnay racquets. Far superior. I don't measure racquets strung.

There was a C7 pro and/or comp that was similar in spec but 18x20... I've had my eye out for one for a while now...
Had both the C-7 comp that preceded the C-10 and the C-7 pro, the fusion frame from 1999. C--7 comp was sweet but 25 yrs may change things.

I asked myself the same question 4 years ago.

Head Pro Tour 280/630

You gonna have SUCH A NICE TIME

(Haven't tried Angell TC97 but trust in VSBabolat...)

The PT 280 or 630 is not in production anymore. so, that leaves that out. The Angell 97 looks very promising though.

Try the Prince Textreme Tour 95 or 100P (add some weights if needed) or ProKennex Redondo MP.
The Prince Textreme Tour 95 looks like a good option. A friend of mine plays with that. Will ask him.

Finally been hitting with the Youtek Prestige MidPlus for a few weeks now consistently. I really like it with some added lead tape at 3 and 9. I may have to add a couple more grams at 10 and 2 positions to get the plow through. With an overgrip, dampener and lead tape, it's a solid 12.2 oz strung and much easier to play compared to the mid.

I had the same situation a month ago, moved from my Microgel Prestige Mid (couldn't play with anything else than the mids) to IG Prestige Mid Plus, customized it to my specs and I'm liking it very much so far...

An oldie worth trying out and it's pretty cheap on the **** - Fischer Pro Classic 98 (the larger head version of Stich's 90 frame) personally the feel is also TOP notch and close to the old Head Prestiges Classics

Of course a Prestige MP is the natural thought, other alternatives will be the Blade 98 leased up, TFight 315 Limited 18 Mains and perhaps the new Ultra Tour or Dunlop Srixon Anderson stick!

I tried to like the blade 98 but it feels too clubby, so dropped the idea. Never tried the Tecnifibre 315. Ultra Tour is way too expensive at this point(although I like the specs) and same thing with Srixon. Finally going to settle down with the Prestige MP.

Yeah the Ultra Tour does look nice, it's a shame Wilson is pricing their rackets ridiculously high these days. The Dunlop Srixon is a bit better but I miss brand new rackets starting at 180.
