Prevent blisters?

Lately I've been getting a lot of blisters on my big toes playing tennis. I wear Courtballistecs 4.3 and nike comfort socks (i believe). Is there any way to prevent blisters from sprouting, or do I have to fork over $14 for a single pair of blister free socks?

I think this belongs in the shoes section or the health section.

Anyways, you eventually develop thick calluses and don't feel any pain anymore or you switch shoes that fit your feet better. You are talking about the sides of the big toe right?

let the blisters form heal up and you will develop calluses in those areas.

If you don't like that, tape the section up with sports tape so the it restricts the amount of friction. Some socks will do the same thing.

If its causes by pressure to that particular area, than get different shoes.

the only real solution is to stop concentrating pressure on that spot by consciously diverting pressure to other parts of the foot. there are three weight bearing points under the foot. heel, ball of foot on big toe side, and ball of foot on small toe side. balances between left and right and front and back must be well controlled for these points and most of the foot problems arise from some imbalance due to inflexible tendencies of the person in using foot and leg. try to increase flexibility and strength of foot, ankle, and hip rotator muscles for better control on the weight distribution on the foot.

From my experience, wearing two pairs of socks is the way to go. It puts another layer between your foot and the shoe to reduce friction. Rather than spending a lot of money on Thor-Lo's I'd suggest getting the multiple pairs of thin, athletic socks (e.g. the Champion C9 line at Target). Provides the same amount of cushioning with less friction.

Lots of interesting stuff there. Did you fix an issue of your own? Do you have any references to recommend?

in a way yes. didn't have any debilitating issues to fix but I have seen significant improvement in overall balance and performance studying and applying principles I am learning from very detailed posture training and functional anatomy books. the starting point that led me to deeper understanding in functional anatomy is anatomy books by Dr Dimon. All his works are highly recommended by me.

I use a product called glide that is a anti chaffing formula that a lot of runners use.
