Prime Djokovic v prime Federer on all surfaces?

But here we are discusssing about Prime Version of both

Prime to Prime Federer beats him black and blue at wimbledon, uso, at the french as well steals win and probably loses in close 5 sets at the AO since those conditions are too slow and help novak's return.

That is simple, but I was wondering that Fed should have developed a henin backhand early on and worked more on his upper body strength to become physically stronger to overpower djokodal, he never did this in his peak, a big mistake.

Whoever was his strength trainer was a big fail.....

2012 - 8/10
2013 - 7.5/10
2015 - 9/10
2018 - 8.5/10

Wimbledon ->

2011 - 9/10
2013 - 5/10
2014 - 9/10
2015 - 9.5/10
2018 - 8.5/10

Grass- Federer
Clay - Djokovic
Fast HC - Federer
Slow HC - Very, very close, I'm leaning slightly for Djokovic.

Overall Federer wins in this particular matchup, but individual matchups don't mean much, you play against a whole field. Djokovic would do much better than Federer peak vs peak against Nadal, for instance.

Djokovic 2015 could take on peak Sampras, that's how good he was that day.

A few adustments for me would be that 2011 Djokovic is better than 2018 Djokovic and Federer would have more trouble with that version. I would have to think more though about which versions I think were better than Federer.

I've always thought that 2009 was probably the weakest Wimbledon winning Federer though but I think he probably beats 2019 Djokovic but not 2021.
What makes you pick Wim 2021 Djokovic over Wim 2009 Federer?

Roddick Wim 2009 final vs Federer Wim 2014 final?
Flip a coin on the TBs honestly. Federer was pretty clutch in 2014. I want to pick Andy as I think he was overall better start to finish in 2009 but got tight in both 2nd&3rd set TBs.

The problem Peak Federer would have faced against a top level Djokovic on grass is the same as the one Old Federer faced, which is that Djokovic would get too many returns back into awkward positions and force Federer into baseline rallies. Then Federer would struggle with the inferiority of his backhand once the rally reached a neutral point, which is how Nadal and Djokovic both dominated him at the slams.

Modern grass isn't quite fast enough for Federer to servebot against Djokovic for 5 sets unless he serves like he did in the Murray 2015 SF, which Federer has never done in a slam final.

what a load of utter and complete bullcr*p.
federer on grass from the baseline > djokovic on grass from the baseline
fed's BH held up just fine in 2012 Wimbledon, let alone at peak level.

Djokovic is not winning more than 25% of matches vs fed on grass prime to prime.
All fed needs to serving wise is serve decently, nothing more.

As far as thread goes,
over an extended prime period:
prime fed beats prime Djokovic at RG, Wim, USO, YEC
Djokovic wins at AO on plexi

Yea until you see that that also happened in years when he wasn't 38.

Well for one, peak Djokovic wouldn't play a match as bad as that one.

Yea Federer has 6 AOs but did he dominate the AO like Djokovic has at Wimbledon? Did he do a 3 peat or win 5/7 of them?
Fed won 4/7 in 2004-2010 so pretty close. He's also defended the title twice.

Which years by the way? Can't remember him ever screwing up a slam final like that. USO 2011 was just one tournament.
