So like I've said before.
a) This match and
b) fed beating red-hot delpo in RG 09 while Djokovic failed to beat a similar red hot stan in RG 15
are significant evidence of fed being better than Djokovic at RG prime to prime.
djoko's only adv is taking nadal to 5 sets in RG 2013.

Can you or some kind person here pull some stats here regarding Djokovic serve , winnerrs etc and simultaneously compare it with the Djokos stats against Nadal in rome Masters & madrid masters!!! This will help a lot to decide the outcome

RG the balls were lighter and hence stats are going to be clearly better.

Federer unfortunately somehow became old a year later and the RG12 match is forgotten.
Federer became a year old later as per natural process of ageing.
Fed was not good on red clay in 2012 at all.
At RG, fed lost a set each in 3 of his first 4 matches (none of the opponents were that good), was down 2 sets to love to delpo before delpo had some injury/stamina issues.
RG 12 semi, fed played a sucky match - winning 56% of 1st serve points, 45% of 2nd serve points, broken 7 times in frickin 3 sets.
Before you say it was all Djokovic, Djokovic himself was broken 4 times.
Of course RG 12 match isn't going to be much importance accordingly.
Djokovic won RG in 16. Got whopped by Thiem in RG 17 - including eating a bagel, just in case you forgot. This after Djokovic 1&0ing Thiem at Rome.

But it isn't desperate. It's just become impossible to post anything and expect anyone to treat it as what it is - because everything is immediately turned into GOAT-questions.
We didn't get that many matches with these two giants when both were at their best, unfortunately.
Great match, could easily have gone the distance and who knows...
