Prince Classic Response 97 (re-issue) vs original Precision Response Ti

Currently playing w/ Prince Precision Response Titanium and need to replace my grommets. To my big surprise I was told at the local shop that Prince is still selling the reissued Response 97 frame.(they didn't have in stock locally.) I went online to TW and here it is: Prince Classic Response 97? Wow:???:

It looks almost identical to Precision Response Ti spec wise so I assume that the newer grommets should still fit my older Ti frame? (Can someone please confirm that before I order them:?)

But do they play the same: Classic Response listed stiffer than the original Response Ti?

Isn't ti response new version of respons Classic? Kind of like ti radical was before iradical? They might be the same mold but they are different in composition...

sorry I can't answer definitively on the grommets but since the specs are so similar I would bet they would be the same.

I believe there is a difference in the composition, where the original Response ti had a little titanium mixed with the graphite, whereas the current one is all graphite. So maybe that would influence the feel.

but at $89 the new one looks like a good deal and the rest of the specs are similar.

I have a Response Classic now and played with the Response Ti back in the day. To my recollection, the newer version is much lighter to swing, less powerful and less stable. I like the newer model now as I prefer a more swing friendly frame, but I remember the old one fondly as it served a ton and was sooooo stable and the slice backhand was great. My two cents. . .
