Prince diablo prism? Has anyone tried it?

Hey guys.. i usually play with a hybrid of klip legend tour in main with luxilon alu ice in the cross... but since coming back to competition again and started to practice alot again.. ive noticed that i break my strings almost every 2-3 sessions which gets really annoying and more importantly expensive.

Now that after the pandemic that i lost my job i am looking for a cheaper alternative and tried a full bed of volkl v square.. however that also doesnt last long! I busted the last one after 2 hitting sessions.. and to be honest i dont really like the feeling of full polys eventhough for me i get a similar amount of spin from my old hybrid setup than full v square.

i play with spin but instead of a high bouncing top spin, i prefer to play more flatter trajectory on the rise spin (if i had to describe my style of play it would be probably more closer to novak)..

Since ive lost my job i cant really afford expensive strings anymore and after watching tw's review comparing prince diablo prism to be very similar to alu power.. and this string is very cheap comparing to alu power.. so has anyone tried this string? Because if it is as good as alu power.. i might as well try it and what do you guys think? Would hybriding it with prince syngut be a good option?

if not what poly (cheap version) would play similar to an alu power? I know tourbite feels similar but im uet to find anything like an alu power.. thanks guys

and for those who have tried diablo prism please do a quick review about their experience... thank you!

If you want something similar to ALU power at a better price point, I would look at Tourna Big Hitter Silver. If you want a poly with an edge, Tourna Silver 7 Tour has gotten great reviews.

Brian Bollman did a nice review of the string here: Prince Diablo Prism

With so many strings out there at all price points, if price is a concern for you, I wouldn't waste your time with it. Best deal going I think is Tier One's sample pack. Try T1 Black Knight, Durafluxxx and Tour Status in your preferred gauge.

Priority should be to become 'gainfully employed.' You need to use NG and poly in the same diameters and the poly should definitely be round for any hope of longevity. If you can no longer afford NG/poly, go to a class of string called 'control multifiber'. Head makes a bunch of them.

thanks guys for the reply!! and yes i did watch brian bollman's review.. he did mention that diablo prism is similar to alu power.. which is why i asked lol.. but in terms of replying to esgee48.. i know ng/poly is one thing that cant be replaced as it is the string for me.. but i cannot afford it atm since i just lost my job! and as said in the main post i been using ng/alu power.. so it is actually a ng and round poly.. but yeh just looking for a cheaper alternative right now.. i know i wont replicate the same feeling..! but just wondering what the diablo prism plays like since it is a really cheap poly.. at least in australia

hey mate thanks for the reply!!!! i will try and get tier one but in aus its a bit of a pain since no one sells them.. but yeah as i said v square is a nice string for me but its very expensive here $20 a set and if i keep breaking them every 2-3 sessions it gets so expensive.. so u think tier 1's strings are as good as v square?

Sorry, I don't know what your options in Australia are. Tier One definitely has strings as good as Volkl's offerings, but buying them from Australia will probably be expensive.

I play with V-Square 16 mains in hybrid with round polys in the crosses. I think this will be your best bet to increase durability. It is usually the cross strings cutting into the mains that causes string breaks, and a round poly will minimize notching. The best Volkl round poly is V-Star. Give it a try!

will give it a try.. in fact i just did a v square main and alu power (left over reel) on the crosses... i will see how it feels... hopefully it feels nice and not losing any spin potential from just full v square :) thanks guys
