Prince Graphite 90 WITHOUT cross bar?

I recently come across an used Prince Original Graphite 90 in a pro shop. Like most POG 90, '90' is printed on the top of the hoop

The most noticable difference with other POG 90 is that this POG does not have a cross bar

Other than that, the paint is in non glossy plain black without green strip.

Anyone has any info on this racquet? Is it released before or after the cross bar POG 90/Mid? Spec?

Is there a plastic piece in the throat? IF so, then it's a Precision Graphite 90.

BTW it isn't a POG if there's no throat bar.

My HS coach played the Mid and a couple of college team mates played the OS. As I remember it had a soft feel. But that's all I remember.

Back in the day I really thought Prince had some very good racquets. The Prince Pro, Spectrum Comp, Magnesium, Woodie, Precision Comp all good frames. I think I could still happily play with most of them today.

Ahhh, memories of the good ol days.........

Sounds very similar to my prince graphite pro - series 90.
It's matte black w/ white pin-stripe and lettering.
No crossbar, About 20mm thickness, stiffer frame than the POG.

Didn't the Graphite Pro have a plastic throat bridge?

No I don't think so. As I remember It was gray color with with stripes and lettering. One-piece constuction and very flexible with low power. This frame had even lower power than the Graphite Comp. I remember it as a poor mans graphite. Even then I still played with the Prince Pro Aluminum.

I have seen POG lookalikes without a crossbar in a pro shop in Asia. Glossy paint, leather grip, look like the real thing. Didn't aks them where they came from.

I also saw a Prince 'spin' model there, same frame geometry as the infamous Wilson Spin- round and very very thin. Paintjob of that Prince was gorgeous, somewhere between POG and Michael Chang LB.

Spectrum Comp was a white frame. Ceramic technolgy. Came in MP 90 sq. in. and OS 107. Note sure of frame width. Good power as I remember from both frames.

I had the MP, can't believe I played well with a 90. It was pretty light from what I remember (around 11 onces). Nice racket, even with 5 year old strings.

Yeah, it was a hammer. I knew a guy who used one in college. Had a different feel. Just wierd when I hit with it.

Could you be talking about the Prince Mono or one of their attempts at at a mono type extended racquet? Those looked like badminton racquets.
