Prince Leather

Anybody ever use it? How are they? I'm going to play with an overgrip 99% of the time, but I like the feel of leather underneath.

They came stock on my POG OS frames and I don't have any complaints.

I've never used any "pro stock" leathers (P1, Head Calfskin, Balmforth, etc.), but my favorite leather grips would be ranked:

1. TW Private Label
2. Prince
3. Babolat
4. Wilson
5. Head

Haven't tried Volkl, Dunlop, or Gamma but my friend swears by Volkl.

I have tried the TW Private label (heaviest version), Gamma, Head, BB (basically Volkl) and have been happy with all of them.

I have the BB in x3 of my Londons while counter balanced to stock weight (for doubles). I am setting up another x3 with Head as it is lighter and doesn't need much counter balance if any (for singles).

I will be getting another leather grip for a "oldie but woody" refurbishment and will prob try Dunlop to match the racquet. If anything...really consider the TW Private label.

I found the Prince leather grip quite thick and difficult to wrap. It didnt seem to want to wrap around the butt very well due to the thickness. But that was just my experience.

I use the Gamma leather grip on my rackets and it wraps really nicely and if you dont have too dry hands, with a tiny bit of olive oil smeared onto the surface to make it a little tacky, I think it could be used without an overgrip.

I have Prince leather Grips on my EXO Graphites and they look and feel to me as high quality, cant find any flaws... Dont know why, but they make me blister every time in same spot under middle finger, cant figure out why is that, maybe its the handle shape or...?

Rub some surgical spirit into your finger. It will harden the skin and stop the blistering. I now have nice hard skin under my little finger, thumb and swearing finger. Give the surgical spirit a go, it does work.

Mind you, if you rub it on to a fresh blister, your scream will shatter your windows :)

How often do you put the surgical spirit (Isopropyl alcohol) on your hand to form thicker skin? Do you apply it throughout the day or just every night?

The Prince leather is quite nice. I like it more than the Dunlop leather. It isn't as slippery as the Dunlop leather. I like it so much that I don't need an overgrip. It isn't hard, but it still has the feel of leather. It is softer than the Dunlop leather. It reminds me of the Head Finest Calfskin that was on Kevin Anderson's Prestige.
