Prince NXG Mid?

I saw them going for cheap (they have "demo" in red near the grip though) so I picked one up. From what I've read on these boards, the NXG Mid is nothing special. I'm considering picking up another one just in case I like it, but if it's true that this racquet does nothing better than other player's racquets, then I would be better off using this racquet kind of as a starting point, correct? (And getting a "better" player's racquet).

Also, anyone actually use this racquet?

yeah i used it briefly, i really tried liking it. Leading it up and all, but i just couldnt stand it. This racquet is by no means bad, it just doesnt do anything exceptional where it blows you away. By the way, i have one for sell... $50 shipped, only used it for 6-8hours and no scratch, strung only once.

But just dont expect it to be all that it should be, because you'll hate it even more. I dont know how to say this, but let yourself be surprised as you try out the racquet. I know i was.

This gets to be a sort of a melody one tune follows the next; I'm always responding Say Chi Sin Lo pretty much on the same notes.

If you think that the NXG mid will be a good starting racket and than moving to a "better" players racket, than you are mistaken. What you are looking for is a forgiving not a demanding player's frame. The NXG is a solid racket with a less than huge sweetspot but very good precision. Look at some yonex or volkl frames. However if you think you can handle the NXG than by all means go ahead and give it a shot. Afterall there are quite a few people who like the NXG.

i play with the nxg mid.. at first i didnt really like it but as i started to use it more n get the right strings for it, i really liked it even tho it doesnt have much of a sweetspot, i can generate alot of spin off it and it gives me total control of my shots and serves, i can place my serves very well first or second it doesnt have much power so u either gotta add your own or use some strings that has sum power to it. i string mines with luxilon big banger alu power on crosses and alu power rough on mains its actually pretty nice.

Okay, so I got my NXG's strung with gosen super micro sheep or something (that $4 string). One at 53 and one at 58. I like the 53 one more- it's more comfortable.

The nxg feels solid, but perhaps that's what you guys mean by lack of feel... it feels the same on every hit except mishits. But anyways, I like it. It has control, is stable, and is pretty comfortable.

I am very sad though, on only my second day of hitting with it, that while hitting some serves I let go and hit it into the ground. And now it's all scratched up... hopefully it doesn't break on me later... >_< Anyone got experience with how much faster racquets break if you hit them into the ground? I don't serve that fast, so it couldn't have been that hard... T_T
