Prince Official - Racquets

How maneuverable is the Prince 100G? I just ordered a demo of it since I've been sick of my current babolat pure strike 98 (3rd gen) because it seems to bulky to use. The prince is 3 points more headlight and the swing weight is 10 g less than the pure strike, so I'm hoping that it's a lot easier to use.
Maneuverable enough. I play it with weight 3-4g at 10 and 2 and leather grip to bring weight to 12.1 or so and sw around 325 and find it plenty stable and maneuverable. Happy to answer any other questions. Been using graphite 100 and then phantom 100G for over 8 years now.

Still can't put down the Twist power Japan blue purple 100, with twaron in it it's so addictive and easy to play with, feel is amazing with babolat origin in the mains and ghost wire crosses 53/51, awesome setup for this frame. Can't wait to get the x98 which also has foam in it ! not sure if the x100 black one's have twaron, which really feels amazing in it.

nice vid from lafino crew the 107 graphite modified bludgeons the ball !

Do you find that the crossbar does anything? Also, do you find that the Phantom 100G gives you a very predictable response? I've also heard that this is a really low-powered racquet. Does the phantom ever get launchey on you?

Are there any more prince phantom 100g racquet reviews besides the one in tennis warehouse? This racquet is surprisingly hard to find opinions on.

Do you think this will be the same as the Prince 107 in green camo?

yeah, pretty much! not sure how much difference between the camo and previous one tech wise. The one in the video is the 107g, just different cosmetics, mold layup all look to be identical.

Which Prince frame gives most free power and is easy to swing apart form Ripstick of course?
Ripstick > Beast > Warrior > Twist > Tours > Phantom - the Twist power 100 is effortless to swing and gives solid power. The 66ra stiffness with twaron in it is perfect, which the black series 100 and 100 tours do not have in the layup. The box beam shape in areas adds control to the frame, why it plays control orientated as well.

camo has zylon in the layup
I wonder if it's the same zylon as the one used in Babolat around 2002 (?)...
Though to be honest I'm so old that when I hear/read/see zylon (I know the spelling is different) the below pops up in my head...

haha. my guess is that it is the same material, since Zylon appears to be a proper noun, but who knows. It apparently adds stiffness.

The racquet is very stable, I've played with a cross bar for over 7 years so I guess I can't compare much to without it. The Phantom is more stable than the previous graphite 100. Its not launchy really ever for me. I go poly main at 45lbs and a multi cross at 48lbs and it works great for me. I'm a 4.0 player.

Thanks for the insight. I'm currently demoing the phantom 100G right now with multis around 50 pounds and there's a lot of things I like about it and stuff I don't really like. The feel is fantastic and my shots are very point and shoot. It' probably the most stable racquet I've played with though and I'm not used to the head-light design and how it has a different heaviness compared to other racquets like the pure strike that I'm used to. This makes me worried about how maneuverable it is. Do you find it difficult to do reflex volleys or get the racquet in position when you're on the run with this racquet?

Anyone have any updates as to why the new Phantoms haven’t hit market yet online? I know they had some at Indian wells but haven’t seen or heard anything else since.

Ooh yeah! A playtest would be great! I would try the 100P since I already own the previous 2 generations. I'm curious if I could feel the difference with the added Zylon.

The ATS increased the upper hoop rebound when added to the 110 O3 line [ now called the Legacy.]
I think it will do the same for the Beast

They really went all in on the color scheme. I can't see anyone buying that baby green (IYKYK) ResiTex Tour grip for any other racquet.
It’s interesting that when I go back to TW site for 2005 or 2012 I like almost all of the paintjobs. Now it seems like there is a contest for a worst of all time :D

Deep purple with dark green accents would have been so cool on this. Maybe in 5 years?!

Confirmed with TW that they did kill it. What a bummer.

There just isn't a big enough customer base for a 100g vs the 107g. I can see people opting for a 107g if they can't get a 100G but I don't see a lot of people buying a 100g if they can't get a 107g....they probably will just get something else

Should I go buy the 100g Phantom now or later? Just finished playing a match with this demo racquet and wondering if the price will drop soon. Also, will I be able to still buy the 100g after the new models launch on April 22?

It’s already on clearance. Doubt it’ll go any lower before it’s gone.
