if y’all had to guess, when do y’all think Prince will come out with next generation of the
Prince ATS Textreme Tour?
At first I thought "What is this miracle material called Zylon?"The current lineup is only 2 years old, so maybe another year or two before an official announcement. I'm a 100% sure Zylon will be added.
Prince knows what they are doing and are doing it well, using twaron, Zylon, etc. Such excellent quality frames. From what I heard the new tours outside of JP will be released in Q4 2025! I bet these will have the Z stuff in them.At first I thought "What is this miracle material called Zylon?"
I was wondering about Zylon and found Babolat already had a "Zylon" frame in 2002: https://www.tennis-warehouse.com/learning_center/racquet_reviews/BPDZreview.html
Then looked up Zylon on Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zylon#:~:text=Zylon (IUPAC name: poly(,1980s and manufactured by Toyobo.
I string my Phantom Pro 100 and 100x 290 with f/b syn gut 16g at mid 40's. Poly at around 42. The Phantoms respond well to mid 40's syn gut - bigger sweet spot, nice cupping, more power but still enough spin and decent control.Anyone here string their phantoms (P or G) with all syn gut or multi only? I flirt with the idea but feel the spin suffers some. Been stringing Volkl main around 45 lbs and Prince premier control at 48lbs cross. Playing with a customized 100G.
They're not all created equal, for sure. The first Head racquet I tried was in the first Graphene line and I kept asking myself "where is this lovely Head feel that people keep talking about?" But this twaron stuff in the Textremes and the nf2 fibers or whatever they're called in the newer Babolats have definitely made me more open to different layups.@DJ- I wasn't implying negative vibes was just curious about Zylon. One doesn't have to look far or hard to find "dramatic" buzzwords in tennis racket construction. Whatever happened to GrapheneI can't count the number of Prince rackets I have had including nearly 2 dozen POGs, both sizes, so many Changs it seemed almost fetish-like and numerous other Prince rackets. Heck I have 3 Twistpower 97s I think are as good as any racket out there I am just a bit skeptical when I hear things like Titanium, Graphene, Zylon, etc.
That's the previous Jap version, without Zylon. Not sure if this has been posted already, but this guy bought the new Phantom O3 100 in Japan:
Using the X (not the P or G), but I string with syn gut full bed fairly often (Prince Original Syn Gut or Lightning Pro), and it works great. Usually at 48 or 50 lbs. For me, plays best after an hour or so when it loosens up just a little.Anyone here string their phantoms (P or G) with all syn gut or multi only? I flirt with the idea but feel the spin suffers some. Been stringing Volkl main around 45 lbs and Prince premier control at 48lbs cross. Playing with a customized 100G.
No negative vibes taken from me end! I was just stating Prince use technology that makes a difference and enhances feel / pop. The Zylon stuff actually appears to add that extra pop to the frames (according to the TW playtest crew and the JP reviews) without losing feel. Prince use stuff that has proven to work, like Twaron, which 'm loving in the new o3 tour and twist 100. The head designer guy from prince makes appearances on their channels and actually has some great insight into the frame moulds, tech, why changes were made, etc. The translate button has become more efficient on YouTube.@DJ- I wasn't implying negative vibes was just curious about Zylon. And I would string my Phantom100x 305s with syn gut at 47, and it was the best racquet ever, EXCEPT..........I just could not hit a serve with it. I mean, never. I probably hit the sweet spot (or it only felt like the sweet spot) 1 out of 50-100 times. I have two that I have to get around to putting up for sale, because after trials of several Tours, including the 98, I have settled on the ATS Tour 100 290. It is nearly everything the Phantom was, but I can also serve nearly as well as my trusted Triple Threat Hornet of old (another great one, but I volleyed poorly with it)I string my Phantom Pro 100 and 100x 290 with f/b syn gut 16g at mid 40's. If you ever have one you can modify, a leather grip and/or weight in the handle is definitely worth a try. i did not like the weight distribution at first, but mine now feels great with slightly less than a 31.5 balance strung.just don't like the fact I feel the way the weight is concentrated from the mid of the hoop and towards the tip of the frame
This was the case with the Blade V5 16x19 I'm currenly using most of the time. Some head heaviness in terms of balance, but it weighted around 290 grams unstrung, so it's super maneuverable. I've only added 4 strips of lead underneath the basegrip to make it feel a bit more stable and now it doesn't need anything else.If you ever have one you can modify, a leather grip and/or weight in the handle is definitely worth a try. i did not like the weight distribution at first, but mine now feels great with slightly less than a 31.5 balance strung.
I think this one will grow on me even more !I hate to break it to you guys but those ATS paintjobs are growing on me
nice. looks way better than the silver imoI think this one will grow on me even more !
If only it was glossy, would be amazing.nice. looks way better than the silver imo
indeedIf only it was glossy, would be amazing.
Oh h*ck yes, I hope that's happening. That's already one of my favorite Prince paintjobs ever.I think this one will grow on me even more !
Looks similar to the X twist paintI think this one will grow on me even more !
See the glossy vs matte thread. Someone just polished their matte racquets and they came out nice and glossy. If only it was glossy, would be amazing.
Wow, I've been eyeing the ATS for quite some time, but now I might be willing to wait for the black version to come out!I think this one will grow on me even more !
@Prince Tennis Official please give us this (100P also)Wow, I've been eyeing the ATS for quite some time, but now I might be willing to wait for the black version to come out!
TW had the Diablo mid at 66ra. I always thought it felt firm but not stiff.
O ports alienated quite a few people, including myself, but I’ve come around since and think it’s good tech.
Sorry I've been away. I'll try to spend some time tomorrow reading through the comments and answering some questions.
which multi are you using?Blacked out paint jobs are the new trend.
In other news the win streak extends to 8 matches since returning to Prince. Might get a tattoo.
Still have not found a better setup than poly/multi (cyclone mains for now) will try pro line evolution/multi soon.
Please please let there be a Tour 95 version, instant grab for meI think this one will grow on me even more !
PSA announcement: the newest European Beast releases are AMAZING!Would be nice if Prince USA knows whether they will get the new Twistpowers. I just got back from Japan visiting and was interesting to see the Prince lineup there. I wasn't wowed by their ATS lineup (it's just a different flavor of white)....but the Twistpower 98 Tour was very cool....I was tempted to grab one at ~$250 USD each but couldn't pull the trigger to try it. The Twistpower 100 tour seemed meh when I picked it up vs the current X100 here in the US. Didn't really like the Beast series..kinda chunky and the fire red paint job's not really my thing
Confused why no one has mentioned or done this yet, just had to the moment I saw the new black cosmeticBlacked out paint jobs are the new trend.

Just gosen syn gut. I’ll use tnt2 once I get more. I don’t really care about the cross much.which multi are you using?
Camo bags?Sorry I've been away. I'll try to spend some time tomorrow reading through the comments and answering some questions.
Wonder if we could get confirmation as to whether Beasts will come to North America?PSA announcement: the newest European Beast releases are AMAZING!
The one with the volcano theme paintjobs. Haven't tried the new 98, can't find one in my new preferred grip size, but the 100 is the bomb! People need to try it, and wish everyone had it. The stiffness profile is much better than when I tried out the previous twaron version only in the shaft. Feels just a little softer

Head Velocity MLT 17 at 52lbs on a recommendation from the forum.Anyone here string their phantoms (P or G) with all syn gut or multi only? I flirt with the idea but feel the spin suffers some.
