is the general consensus among users of the latest phantoms that the switch to zylon has not made the hitting sensation any worse or less comfy?

From all the JP reviewers they mentioned comfort was the same just slight power increase and the ball comes of the stringbed quicker.

Are you simply referencing my REVIEW I contributed to the playtest? Kidding aside, it’s cool that some of my thoughts align with the JP reviewers, so I don’t feel like a total poser. @tele, as a user of the 2020 version and the current, I would say comfort levels seem similar when the ball is struck cleanly (maybe the slightest nod goes to the 2020), but outside the sweet spot the 2020 feels more forgiving.

Haha you the man. Listening to the head prince designer with translations this is what Prince wanted to achieve.

I used the Ripstick again today.

Feels fine. Plays fine. No real wow factor for me.

I think where I find the Ripstick to shine is in how plush the stringbed is due to the huge ports. This allows me to use very stiff strings at higher tensions.
With that set up in a Ripstick, you now have control, power, and spin in equal measure. Few racquets deliver all three.
I have Prince XS 135 on top of Kirschbaum Max Power 130 at 24kg in it. Even at 22kg in my ATS, that is a touch stiff. In the Ripstick, that combo is plush at 24kg.
Yet, the ball acts like you are hitting with a super stiff string(well, because you are).
Although XS is a shaped string, it acts more like a round string in feel, and doesn't surprise you with it's launch angle when transitioning from heavy hitting to touch shots or slice like some shaped strings can do. Yet it still gives you ample spin and control.
So, the control is there, the spin is almost too much, and the racquet still does most of the work for you with control added.
My main complaint is sometimes when I am slugging as hard as I can, that the balls will occasionally dip into the service line area and not go as deep as I would like.
But I think it's a nice trade-off for how it behaves most of the time - especially on serve.
Then again, like I said before, I kinda like my sticks clubby. I also like how solid the hoop is as well.
I did add an OG to the Ripstick, so mine is 335g on the scale. My ATS is 337 with an OG. The ATS is definitely more whippy, but The Stick behaves just fine for me.
Both have 5g of lead at 3 and 9 since I am playing a lot of singles lately. Though I don't feel either are sluggish at all at this weight.
I added the weight because they just seemed a little light in the head when slogging it out at the baseline.

Are you talking about the mid? I think it was standard length.

I was, but I was thinking of the MidPlus. My bad.

Phantomu Graphito

I played with the Phantom Pro 100P for a month. I played ok with it. But that wobbly feel of the head was just too much for me to look past.

I hear you. the Pro 100P did lack the ATS. I still like the feel, when playing singles, but doubles for me needs more stability/stiffness in the head, especially since I volley more than normal, so I will play with the 2nd Gen or 3rd Gen 100P.

I have this bag too. Best bag ever!! Stiff, doesn’t fold, many pockets, thermo space for drinks. And looks amazing.

Really wish the Prince guys didn't leave 5 days after returning to these boards in 3 years.
perhaps they quickly remembered how much time trying to respond to all of the questions and suggestions tt members were throwing at them would require

With Black Friday coming up, do you think we will get some mega deals? I just saw the old YT short from last year, where TW was promoting $69 prince frames

This tour carbon thing was a total joke - you fail to release on the 100P and 100 (310) which are arguably the most popular of the Prince 100's, yet its skipped...

I solemnly swear that I will buy a Carbon 95 if it ever appears.:cool:
I’d also buy a VCore 98+ in Sand/Beige if that ever appears even though I have 3 2023 VCore 98+s. (I also have a 2015 TT95 & an ATS 95. Fortunately for my bank balance I’m apparently an unworthy sales demographic.)

I have the evo 12 backpack/duffle, and I really like it. Half of it is dedicated for racquets, but the other half can be used as a duffle or racquets, which is convenient for everyday use.

As noted above, my wife & bank balance thanks them for their marketing decision. They also thank ROTW Prince for failing to provide the current Japanese paint job of the 95, which is even more attractive to me than a possible Carbon version. (I’d purchase the latter from Japan, but the extra cost, 10 grams lighter weight and in particular the lack of 4 1/2 grips precludes this.)

You should be fine without a starting clamp. SC are useful to act as a bridge if you are a little short to reach the gripper on your tie off or to back up your clamp on the 1st pull.
