Prince Official - Racquets

The new Ripsticks and Ripcords were teased to us by the last time the guy in charge did a podcast with TennisNerd.

I really dig both paintjobs. Once again, Prince gives some very different molds.

Playing tennis sporadically at the time we speak, I'd prefer going out to play tennis with a Prince Vortex than my trustworthy Blade V5 16x19. Right now, I'm only about the fun of the game. Nothing more. Not looking to put time and effort and improve my game.

Troy gave unstrung specs of the Ripstick 98 in the comments for the above video:

"We can provide the unstrung target specs for now. 310 grams, 31 cm balance, 295 swingweight. 16x18 pattern, but the spacing seems like most 16x19 patterns"

Looks perfect to me. Thing will be a bazooka 98

Send me both 300gram-frames to playtest along with my hitting partners, create content and post hitting clips with these puppies!

I could also pass them around Greece to some well-trusted friends to run weekly demo runs

Racquet finder specs show a strung weight of 323g which suggests an unstrung weight of 305

using "surgical" and "precise" to describe a racquet that is 16x18 and 27mm at the tip seems like a stretch, but it sounds interesting
Definitely not surgical or precise (the ripstick I hit w). I guess it's relative, depending on which racquet you're coming from (I normally hit w the phantoms).

Whomever made those Textreme green and black painted Prince's deserved some commendation. Those are some of the sexiest racquets ever made.

Hell even the white and black were sexy:

The ATS is rather dull by comparison.
The green goblin, my favorite prince racquet

I wonder whether Prince have any more additions to add their current 2024 line up of Phantom frames.
Incidentally the previous iteration of the 93p is becoming a bit collectable right now.

I just bought a Synergy and an ATS Tour 98. Does anybody have a recommended string tension for those when I string my Phantom 100P with 20kg/44lbs and my 100X 18/20 with 19kg/42lbs?

I just wish they would do the 100G again, but keep it at a 19.5mm constant beam like the graphite 100s from mid 2010s. The 100P and 100G were too close in last series - but a 19.5mm constant beam would be very nice with the Phantom tech in it. The 100Gs are still my racquet of choice with some added weight but sometimes just a little more thickness in beam I feel could help some at times.

I just unpacked my Phantom 100X O3. Color is not glossy like the 18/20.
TWE measured the SW at 302, probably with the wrap. It still feels very fast, like my 100P which are 287 unstrung. The O3 though feels like it swings through, supporting an already loose wrist. Will string it today or tomorrow and will probably practice with it tomorrow.

Hey guys, do any of you know what TW's plans are for the Twistpower frames. If they are restocking the current line or are they getting some of the new frames from Japan, particularly the X100 or X98 or if they are dropping it altogether. Thanks

I submitted a review of the Phantom 305X. It plays beautifully, but the two samples I bought were a full 13 grams apart and their balance points were 2 cms apart. Strung and with an overgrip (same strings, same overgrip), they weighed 322 grams and 335 grams respectively. I love the fact that Prince still makes the 4 &5/8 grip size available and that they focus on old-school, arm-friendly frames with some modern power, but that lack of quality control is a serious issue.

Use the TW matching service - $ well spent!

Imo you deserve a refund or they should just send you their lightest frame in exchange. Never heard of 13 grams difference that is insane.

Sounds like one of them was 290g. Never had more than a 4 gram difference with a Prince Racket.

Hit with the Phantom 100X O3 tonight. Better than all other current Phantoms. Good acces to Spin, comfortable, easy controlled power, served well, knifing slices. SW didn‘t feel as high as 302 unstrung.
During play I heard a sound as if my strings broke. It turned out that the bumper guard had the same issue as mentioned before. It didn‘t affect playability but the issue still seems to be around.

These guards which seem to be too soft should've been retooled and replaced by now at no charge to the folks who purchased them. Ruined the launch of an excellent frame. Let's go Prince!! Did no one test these pre-launch to avoid this embarrassment?

Are you sure yours was produced after whatever change they made? I have the previous generation of this frame and never had a problem or heard about anyone else experiencing this. I don't think the new version has any major changes that would make the bumper more likely to pop out for geometric reasons ... must have something to do with the materials?

I received mine this week from TWE. Perhaps just some bad luck. Will see what happens when I cut the strings out.
How did Prince/TW US solve the problem?
