Aka 2020 is superior and didn’t sell well enough so Prince cheapened the next gen. The real question is, will Prince be in business long enough to release another one

I think you nailed it there. The old one has such amazing pocketing with its flex. That’s exactly what the camo is missing so far.
 
Been sitting there all pretty and shiny doing nothing, going in for a restring soon Lynx tour 1.25 / proline II 1.20 hybrid. Love the paint on the 2021 series, lots of class and gloss. These beasts are amazing on clay, and en tout cas :cool:

With the Phantom 03 model having a 19-20mm beam, would really love to see a non ported model with same beam. IMO that is what the 100G should of been - a straight beam 19-20mm beam Phantom.

Interesting changes. The specs were pretty unique before, being quite headlight and the old string pattern was good, open but consistent. This new one probably plays quite differently!

If it is any consolation, I have 16x19 o3 tour from 2019, and the string spacing is very close to that on the 16x18 tour. I bet the new pattern is similar, and as @DJ- mentioned, the US versions might keep the same pattern/weight. The paint on the new ones is certainly an upgrade!

Think there is also a 16x18 in the lineup at 270gr, but US should stay the same. I will be getting one for sure! just deciding between 290 and 305gr! September. Cosmetics are brilliant
 
String spacing from the 3:00 mark comparing previous model to this new 2026 version. As @tele mentioned the spacing is not too much different, if anything from what I can see the strings sit higher in the upper hoop, resulting in more stability / power which they mentioned

The layup change sounds like I’ll enjoy it quite a bit and I’m looking forward to that. But I’m hoping the reduction of spin mentioned here (I’m using auto translate) is slight. I also just really gel with the weight distribution as it is so that’s the thing I’m most concerned about. Did Japan ever have the 100P? I hope we’re not just getting a middle ground between the 100 310 and the 100P

Japan hasn't had the 100P the last couple releases which is a bummer because the color schemes have been pretty cool

Not to burst the bubble but I have to imagine we’re getting a different paint job outside Japan. Those pjs look like the old tours in Japan, just not white. The new phantoms and new rip line look somewhat similar so I think our pj will follow in that pattern. I’m betting on orange making a comeback. But yes, those might be the prettiest Japan pjs yet
 
I have now gone and hit twice with the Phantom 100x 03 and I’m a huge fan. The power and control are great and the feeling of the racquet is muted butter but somehow without loss of feedback (first time i experience something so pillowy but feel like I know where I’m hitting).

It lacks a bit of swing weight stock and serves and return of serves both lacked pop, but if I can handle it with a bit of lead at 12 o’clock it will be a joy to play with.

And the slices are unbelievable.
 
I like the current paint jobs of the tour line. The tours are very hard to get hold of the UK at the moment as stocks of the current models run out. A new line of replacements seems to be quite far off so far as the UK is concerned. If release date in Japan is October/November I wonder when it will be in USA then Europe then UK. It seems to go in that order.
 
Too bad the world-wide phantoms didn't get a PJ like that. That's a worthy successor to follow the old galaxy black/purple PJ from the previous iteration. Instead, we ended up w drab matte military green.
 
These look intriguing. Been thinking about exploring some new options lately and the Tour 98 has been one that I've been thinking about. Diggin the paintjob of this update and it may be something I have to try.
 
According to tennitube(japanese youtube channel), Prince switched to a new factory that specializes in making stiffer racquets for the new tours. it also gets into how the racquets flex differently in different planes. Sounds like the 100 is definitely more powerful.

For the 100s I think so. It has a bit more uniform stiffness that I think works well for the type of game it encourages. The 2022 has a bit more plow and throat flex if you're more into that. Fine margins though. To oversimplify the 2019 has a bit more Babolat and the 2022 has a bit more Speed, but with substantially better feel than either.

Kinda feels like we're getting pure strike-y.

I wonder if they made the factory change for the Rip line too

The 100 is stiffer, but iirc from the video, the 98 appears to have less flex in terms of ra but more "vertical flex"(like the shift) and more twisting flex, and he said it felt a little softer. Of course, these changes may not be reflected in the new us tours, whenever they come out. I really like the paint job on the 95.
