Are there any plans of making a TW review of the Prince Original Graphite OS?
knowing TW prob not........
You are in luck! We actually were able to fit the Prince Original Graphite OS in to this round of playtesting. Look for the review in about 3-4 weeks.
seriously? a very interesting re-visit, I'll be interested on hearing the feedback
POG OS one of the GOAT racquets that isn't mentioned nearly enough
awesome.... been waiting for this since its been requested before
now im gettting greedy
can you fit in the Volkl C10 too?
now im really pushing it but..
the mid pog too?
We were able to fit the Prince Original Graphite OS in due to Chris hitting with the racquet for various reasons. I will put down your requests but unfortunately, this current playtest session is full. If we have time later on in the year we might be able to get one of them in. Thanks for understanding!
Thank you TW, I'm looking forward to your reviews!
POG OS review from TW
OK...still waiting for this one...
It is still on its way. The video has been shot and going through editing. The written is also on its final stage of editing. Hold tight! We have had a lot of reviews shot/written in the last two weeks and are trying to get them done ASAP!
I will see what I can do!
yes!!!!!..since chris is currently using it
is the prince graphite discontinued?
It is not discontinued.
The video is now posted! The written is in its final stage of editing and will be up in around a week.
Check it out here:
Do you know when you'll be getting in new stock of the POG OS (3/8 grip) ?
Tough to give an accurate ETA at this point until we get a better idea of what Prince is shipping. Everything was on hold for awhile as they worked through their various issues.
Thanks for the reply and for the POG OS review. Does that mean Prince have sorted themselves out now and decided on a sustainable business model ?
Prince needs to come out with a POG in a 100" model. I know they had the LB in 100" but it would be nice to have a "modern" version, standard length, and a little stiffer. Maybe 11.5 - 11.75 oz. strung.
I agree. Very good idea.
Nah! They used to have the TT Graphite at 100sq and 11.5 inches (albeit 27.5inches long) and it was just ordinary. Same with the Tour NXG and the 03 Graphite. The POG works as a 93 and a 107, that's it.
That's like saying the TT Graphite OS was comparable with the original, is it not?
I believe every attempt on the part of Prince to modernize the POG has failed.
So the EXO3 tour is basically it. No?
i think it was called the diablo
i believe the grommet strip fit for both...find one and let us know
It's not the same without the crossbar. Not sure about the TT Graphite. Wasn't it a little thicker beamed? Just need an old school graphite frame that looks just like (or very similar) to the POG and stiffer.
Diablo was probably close but again, it needs to have the crossbar.
There's the EXO3 Graphite. Didn't sell well, I believe.
Can you rephrase; that doesn't make sense.
It sounds like you're equating the TT Graphite Midplus with what an Original Graphite would be. That's like saying the TT Graphite OS is equivalent to the POG OS, which it's really not. I was pointing out that because they made a TTG MP doesn't mean a modern release of a POG layup with a 100si headsize wouldn't be welcome in the market (I'd try one...)
I'm not equating the TT Graphite Midplus with what a POG OS is, because they're two entirely different racquets (and you can hardly equate a 100sq racquet with a 107sq racquet). What I'm saying is that Prince tried, with the TT Graphite MP and, most especially, the NXG MP to produce a POG MP. Neither one worked (neither did the NXG or TT line) because they lacked the right blend of qualities that the POG Mid and OS have.
I'll try this again: You are saying prince tried to create a POG MP. There WAS a TT Graphite OS. Are you saying the TT Graphite OS (107) was equivalent, then, to a POG OS? IMHO it's kind of a silly assertion to say that the 100 si TT Graphite is what a true POG MP would have been like.
Doesn't seem like you're getting it. The TT Graphite OS was supposed to be an updated version of the POG OS. No, of course it isn't the equivalent in the way it plays or anywhere near its equal but that's not the point. The point is very simply that Prince's intention was to update the POG OS. The end result was the TT Graphite OS and the NXG OS.
I'm sorry, I just don't know how to make it any simpler than I've already done.
TT Graphite OS supposed to be update to POG OS. Not as good but that not the point. All that matter is the intent. That gives us idea of Prince's thinking. Ergo - Prince thinks a POG MP would be something like TT Graphite MP or the NXG Graphite MP. Could and should have thrown in the EXO Graphite MP as example. NONE OF THAT shows what a 'true' (incredibly silly term to use because for something that doesn't exist, the notion of what is true and what isn't would change from person to person) POG MP is. All shows is what Prince think it would be. That shows they no idea how to make a POG MP work. Comprendere?
Does it really matter?
I get it just fine, I just don't follow the logic IF the POG OS was (and still is) in production in a parallel series to the TT and NXG. I can agree that it's a refresh, and/or an update, but the fact that the POG LB exists points to what a 'true' POG MP would be. Like most manufacturers, racquets are generally produced at >27" lengths, and cut down to length. I think it'd be a successful racquet (that would "work," as you say). But in the end, no, it doesn't really matter. It's a theoretical discussion to begin with.
I'm probably just biased, though. Even though I was a Prince fan during the TT days, their lines have gone downhill since the Precision series, IMO.
