I would really encourage people to check out the Phantom Pro 100. It has many of the same characteristics of the ported Phantom 100, but is quite significantly more powerful.
Is the PP100 more powerful than the PP100P ?
Very informative posts, especially the last few ones for me. Thanks!I have all of the Phantoms and given the same string and tension I would place the Phantom Pro 100 as the most powerful of them, despite it having the lowest Price Power Level number. I also prefer the feel of the Pro 100 over the Pro 100P, the later being a box beam and higher stiffness.

Thanks, is this in stock form or modified (if so what is your prefered spec)
I play the TT100P and the TT95, cant seem to make up my mind between the two - and now the PP100 and PP100P. Gives me headacke
The other thread has the answers you seek.@sureshs I read your Phantom Pro 100 customer review. Did you also demo the Phantom Pro 100P? If yes, what made you choose the 100 over the 100P? If no, what made you choose it without even testing the 100P?

I find that lower RA racquets have a catapult effect from it flexing back. That might be what you're feeling. My Redondo has that effect for sure.
I'm guessing the PP100P is closer to the TT100P because of the stiffness too...
but the PP100 has a standard hoop with more graphite material than the O-port version which tells me that the low flex comes from the layup and not the O-port's lower flexibility resistance
I think we have to give Prince much credit for making the PP100 (54RA) even more flexible than the P100 (56RA). One would think it's the O-ports that helped with the low RA, but the PP100 has a standard hoop with more graphite material than the O-port version which tells me that the low flex comes from the layup and not the O-port's lower flexibility resistance.
I had been debating whether to go with the PP100 or PP100P and have decided to go with the PP100 first. It's easier to customize a lower RA frame over a higher one. If the 54RA is too soft for me, it's easier to use stiffer strings and tension to compensate. We all know it's very hard to get a high RA racket to play softer using string customization because softer strings and lower tensions usually results in less control and amplifying the trampoline effect.
I also play against hard hitters and getting the racket around quickly isn't easy and I'm hoping the PP100 and its 54RA will help if I can't get the racket around fast enough, that the ball will stay on the strings long enough allowing me to hold it for a split second longer and getting the racket around to keep the shot in over spraying it wide.
I think I have asked this before but now that we have more experience of people using this frame how does this compare to the exo tour of 18x20? I enjoyed it that frame but lacked a bit of plow or put away power. This phantom is the closest frame on the market to it and while it is a 16x18, it does have a dense center with 8 mains in the throat. I really loved the fast feel of the exo tour but I sold mine unfortunately.
I've just restrung my Phantom 100 with Völkl Cyclone 18L (Sergetti) like my Phantom Pro 100. I'll be very interested to see what the Sergetti delivers in terms of power, as most of the main pulls are below the reference spec. If you consider the RA on the Phantom Pro 100 low, you need to feel that Phantom 100. The ports (or something else in the layup) make that feel so much softer by comparison. But I attribute it to the ports, and just how much string movement they enable. Hoping to get out this afternoon or tomorrow morning and hit them back-to-back. They are pretty much the same spec in terms of weight, balance and SW, and now also string type and method.
Any update on which racket will you choose?
I've been playing a lot the last couple of weeks, with the best intention of selecting the Phantom Pro 100 as being the racket I'd settle on. What ended up happening though is I just found myself not being as effective in some key areas in match play. Due to having had tennis elbow I think I was really infatuated with the thin beam and low RA and not really being entirely objective. So I set about considering a few rackets contenders in key aspects (like server, power, spin, accuracy, feel etc). Surprising what that exercise ended up telling me is that I would be much better to be playing with my customised Babolat Pure Aero or Head Custom Made Prestige rackets. So that's the approach I'm taking right now. If I have any arm concerns in the future then in all probability I'll come back to the Phantoms.
Tennis elbow is no joke. I have many rackets that I play "better" with that I will not use because of their adverse effect on arm health. The key to tennis at a recreational level is finding the racket that saves your arm and allows you to play your best. If you can do that with a Babolat Pure Aero, more power to you. But if you are having TE issues, you owe it to yourself to stick with softer frames and strings. Tennis is a sport for life if you don't wreck your arm fussing about your performance.
I love my Phantom. Do I play as well with it as i do with a Pure Drive? No not really. Do I have more fun playing because my arm doesn't hurt and I have to find other ways to beat opponents rather than just ball bashing? Absolutely.
Yup, you are exactly correct! It's finding that balance for the individual player. I play about 3-5 times a week, so a decent amount of tennis. My Pure Aero is customised, SW slightly over 330 and quite a bit of Blu Tac in the handle (which also has a dampening effect) which gets a nice 31.3 cm HL balance. So they are way more comfortable (for me) than they come in stock form. Similarly the Head Custom Made Prestiges are basically Pro Stock frames, prepared by the Head Pro Room using silicone in the handle etc. So if I find that the Pure Aero ends up accumulating on my arm that could be my next best option. If that does't enable me to play my tennis schedule then I'm sure that I'll be back with the Phantoms, at which point I'll have had to make some performance concessions in order to keep playing.

Been there with TE, hope you heal well.
I also have TE previously and P100 is really comfortable for my arm
I’m waiting for Prince to bring back the iconic double bridge

Phantom Pro 100PWhat does the “P” mean when it follows the number? I thought the 100P meant 100Pro but now there is the Pro 100? Anyone know?
That design totally works IMHO. Double bridge in something like the TXT Tour 100P would be sweet. Pun intended.

something like this, unfortunately just doesn't seem to be making across the pacific any time soon
The POGs have the cross beam stabilizer (also a great feature), not the double bridge. The double bridge is the split throat bridge with the polymer insert. It softens the feel of the string bed, like a dampener.
I guess the cross bar stabilizer and double bridge are synonymous in Japan. In a way double bridge does seem to be evolution of the cross bar. https://princetennis.jp/product/7tj017
We just need Prince to bring these back to the product line.
I don't think it stands for anything, just a way to differentiate between the other two Phantoms.Thanks. I get what you’ve described. To clarify my question, what does the P mean when it follows the head size number e.g. 100P?
i would play one of these for appearance alone. would need to add some blue to it though (overgrip, strangs)something like this, unfortunately just doesn't seem to be making across the pacific any time soon

Similar to how the P, T, L do not mean anything in the Textreme Tour line, but the letters put them in different player categories and weight.

No?
Sorry if I missed this but are the ports like the o ports or are they more exo ports? Wondering if my o3 tour boomerang stringing tool will work with this?
Awesome thank you I have the orange one. I am just undecided on which Phantom to buy....They're like exo ports in that they're rectangular and not oval, but they're like 03 ports in the sense that the ports are the frame itself and not plastic inserts. That said, the orange boomerang will work, I'm not sure about the red. The gray ones are too thick.
