Prince Poly Spin 3D

What do people think of this string? Encountered a Prince rep the other day and he didn't have much info on these strings.

I'm wonder what the deal is with the design of putting three small strings around a main string in a triangular shape, compared to say other triangular strings by Signum Pro or Isospeeds where it looks like its one solid poly piece thats shaped as a triangle.

You'll see what I mean with the string on the packaging:

Seems like it would be an added benefit to not wear as fast and be softer?

I think the TW's playtest Prince Ignite Team came strung w/this. I thought it was a horrible string. It felt dead and very unresponsive. Maybe that's why I had such a low review on the Ignite Team...

I tried it and really liked it, for the first 5 games of the the first set of the first match I played with it. Then I broke one of the poly mains on a square flush hit (I am a string breaker but not a Poly string breaker). Took it back to my local tennis shop the next morning and the guy told me I was the 3rd to have that happen with that string since he started stocking it. He replaced it with TF Black Code 17 at no charge and said he was going to tell the Prince Rep he didn't want to carry it anymore. It is a shame b/c it really did feel nice for about 20 minutes.

I played with it for a few days and felt it fit right into my expectations for a Prince polyester string - nothing special. Felt fine for the first couple hours of hitting, but then noticed some extreme notching and eventual loss of tension.

I would hands down recommend Tour Bite or Revolution if looking for something spin oriented and textured.

when it comes to textured co-polys with spin potential, the tour bite is the king!

Good to know. I regularly use Black Code so what did you think in comparison?

I am not one of those people that can notice subtle differences in strings. I would put it in the category of Black Code as a softer poly that has a lot of feel (relative to other Polys I have played with) and would likely be arm friendly (again relative within the category of polys). That being said I really did not play with it for more than 30-40 minutes before that main broke and I decided to go back to Black Code.

I use this string with good success in my Exo3 Rebel team 95. I use it in the mains and Prince Lightening in the Crosses. Mains at 60 and crosses at 58. I only keep one of my rackets strung with it in case I am hitting all over the darn place. When I use this combo it brings it right back in.

I've asked around elsewhere and it seems the people who like the string always use it as a hybrid with something else.
