I'm beginning to be curious about Angell 18x20 too. Shame they don't do TC100 in 18x20. Which Angell frame are you using?

I ordered Angell TC95 16x19 and TC100 16x19 to match my TT95 and TT100P. Also got the TC95 18x20 but sold it again, as the string pattern were too dense for me.

Angels are more solid, more powerfull and even more arm friendly than the Prince counterpart.

I agree that TC100 18x20 could be really great.

TC95 16x19 is my main stick right now.

Cheers, Toby

Thinking of getting a 28" TC97 but concerned about comments re flex at the top of the head. TC95 28" is also on my radar, but headsize - I know TC95 and TC97 are apparently virtually the same where it matters, and use the same grommets etc. - is messing with my mind lol!

I agree that Angells are more arm friendly and have more touch. For me I’ve had the TC 100 and in comparison with the TT 310 it has more feel but even when weight match does not have the it factor for my game style . I play mostly dubs at 4.5 and I need to make short half volleys a lot as well as volleys from deep in the court pass the service line. This is where the TT 310 shines and I’m sticking with it . As other have said it has no real weakness that I can see except the human error

What have u strung it with ? I’ve experimented with Volkl cyclone 16 mains and OGSM crosses at 52/50 . Now trying out prince premiere control as a full bed at 60 which is also very nice

I just have to say it, the 16x19 pattern that is on the o3 tour and the o3 beast offer better control and forgiveness than the TT 100p 18x20 and of course way better than the TT 310 16 x 18!

Prince needs to incorporate best elements into the solid beam versions.

Just got my TT100.
It's funny how 93 and 100 are basically the exact same size.
I can't believe people make a fuss over 100 vs. 98.
I bet you could not even point out the larger racket in a blind test.

Crazy how powerful marketing is in convincing us that basically things that can barely be detected by the naked eye apparently make a tangible difference to our tennis. Head size differences are massively over emphasized. The beam thickness in the various frames is what makes the most difference in power and overall impressions of frames.

At the amateur level the head size differences makes very little difference, at the pro level totally different equation.

Yea, I wanted to make sure I had an arm friendly racket.
I guess I felt like I was getting something for my money with 100 and RA 65.
POG is rated at 600 with RA of 67.
The main difference is the "widebody" nature of the new racket.

I am certainly not buying 2 however, and the POG will be the backup racket

Prince had a fairly big hoop size. But I do agree that above 90 most of the difference for any frame is at the bottom (Not effecting much, playability wise)

Played one set with this bad boy today and I am impressed. No mods just built up butt, OG and damp and it’s solid and stable. The feel is also very nice. I hit some amazing ohbhs. Can’t remember if @Power Player have you ever hit this frame? I’d be interested to see how it compares to the extreme 360mp. If you haven’t you should for sure give it a ride. Great frame.

I string my POG 93 at 58 (NatGut or ZX)
Any adjustment for migrating over to my new TT100?
Start with 58?

POG 93 power level is 600
TT100 (310) power level is 820

Nah i don’t really have an interest in it. My holicing is pretty limited, lol. Between the mp and my old pa+s, im covered for tweeners.

Just got my pair of TT100 310 and swung it inside.
Per TW invoice:
  • Weight (w/ plastic on handle) - 302 g (324g Strung)
  • Balance - 10 HL (7pts Strung)
  • Swingweight - 284 (318 Strung)
Vcore Pro 310 (stock w/ OG + Yonex dampener) still cuts through the air faster than my TT100 310 (leather + OG + Prince pill dampener).
Must be due to the wider beam drag.
Been several years since I used tweeners, last was a Yonex DR98+.
Can wait to play tomorrow.

302g is pretty far off from 310g...Did you ask for that on purpose?

Yeah I was going to say the same.. thats a lot.
mine was 310 almost right on. Yes tt100 is decisively less maneuverable than vcp97 310, but it's also quite a bit more stable. Let us know.. I am not sure if I'd put prince into tweener category.. it's a little bit of hybrid.. more like all arounder

Sadly I asked for matched racquets as close to adversied specs.
At least they match, but Prince is made in China so QC varies. Unlike Yonex or Angell.
I had the early Phantoms years ago and they chipped paint if you look at it strange.
Post #648: "Today I called for my TT100 310 racquet matching and to get advertised specs.
Logistics hiccup since only California can do customizations and the racquets are in Georgia, but there is a RDC machine for matching services.
Racquet tech tried his best to find two matching sticks close as possible to spec.
Best was 302g unstrung... so 8g off spec... Prince QC fail (n). Wanted advertised spec for better stability."

Ah, I thought it was a tweener due to the Pure Aero comparisons.

I hit with the Prince tour 100 310 last night for the first time, strung with Firewire Boost. (I usually play with the old pure Aero). It was a great feeling racket. Much more maneuverable and solid then my Aero. Power was still there but more controllable power, without the stiffness! Launch angle was much lower but I felt really connected to the ball and the feel on impact was much more crisp then my aero as well. I Was very impressed and will hit with it again this weekend before I officially make the switch.

Then maybe I will give up the thought of trying the ported one. That tour 310 is so crisp!
The whole point of this racket is that it delivers a lot of feel and if feels Chris that ported version is just taking two steps backwards into the tweener amd mushy muted category for what reason

True. What’s the power level listed on that frame ? Have you played them both versions???
875 for the 290 version.
I tried the 310 without O3 and it was really good but too heavy for me. 315g strung with overgrip and dampener is my perfect weight.
And what I love with the O3 it's the head speed I can generate for my spin game on red clay only, and the thin beam for great control and really correct stability.
Such a great frame... :giggle:

We feel like the current selection of Prince racquets meets the performance needs of our customers. At this time, we will not be carrying the racquets.

Thanks,

Still getting dialed in with my TT100 310 w/ Prince Diablo Pro 16L @ 53 lbs.
Definitely more power vs. my VCP 310. Smashed some powerful serves.
On ground strokes I kept hitting the ball late, so out wide or long.
Will up the tension by 2 lbs when I restring which might be a while.

I am stringing a Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310).

Sadly, this racket is not even listed on the Prince website.
http://www.princetennis.com/tour

The racket is 16x18

On this website, the specs are as follows:
https://www.klipperusa.com/stringing/viewpattern.php?mfg=TPRI

Skip Main
8T - 8B

Tie off Main
7T

Start C
8T

Tie Off C
9T - 7B

Can someone verify if I am even using the right numbers?

I did skip the 8th grommet for the mains.
So far, so good.

First issue
I had to tie the mains at 6B (Not 7T)
Not even the correct side of the racket??
How does this happen?
I don't understand how this adds up with 16 mains.
I started the mains in the center, at the throat.

Second issue
I tied the cross starting knot at 7T (not 9T)
It was physically impossible to use 9T
since the existing main was blocking the side at which the 2nd string would pass thru the grommet.
I am not sure how to explain this in words.
Cross string to be tied is entering the grommet from left side.
The the existing main is going to the right.
So, the strings would criss cross if you tried to use this grommet.
It is literally impossible to use this 9T grommet to tie the starting knot for the cross.
I used 7T

Third issue
I finished the cross at 4B (not 7B)
Same issue as above. Physically impossible to use 7B, since the string is going in the opposite direction, and blocks a 2nd string from entering that grommet from the right side

Also, this Prince racket has markings at certain grommets.
There are dots and arrows at 6, 7, 9 on both top and bottom
However, the dots and arrows do not synch up.
6T, 7T = dot
9T = arrow
6B = dot
7B, 9B = arrow

No idea what these dots/arrows mean.

I just bought a used one.

Mains are tied off at 6 in the throat
Crosses tied off at 5 head, and 11 throat

Thanks.
Those locations also would work.
Maybe I will use them next time.

Still wondering why the websites are all incorrect
and what the heck those random dots mean

The klipper site is likely referring to the old Tour 100 16x18 which has been around for many many iterations. I don't see the 310 listed. I'm also confused about the dots/arrows.

I tie the mains at 7 (bottom) and crosses are 6 (top) and 6 (bottom), don't think it really matters tbh

Yeah that makes sense.. wont be as quick as vcp97 thru the air.. I struggled a bit with tt100 310 initially with ample power as well. It will have a higher launch angle than vcp97 as well.. once dialed in tho.. its great. Would definitely recommend 16g and control oriented strings..
