Prince Textreme Warrior 100

I am able to place a flat serve right down the middle on the line with quite a bit of pace, almost at will with this racket. Also able to hit an extremely deep, topspin crosscourt forehand with this racket, almost as easy as thinking about it, but most of the other shots...just aren't there...yet anyway. I am now wondering about the other Warrior 100 models which are both lighter and possibly more like the 100T. May have to demo them when they come out in (hopefully) a few days. Beach

i would think that the lighter ones would be even more erratic. i just might be giving the warrior a whirl this evening so i ought to be able to offer more input ...

With such a power difference, it's easy to see why the Warrior would deliver a great deep crossover top spin shot. You're lengthening the court there. But if you're hitting with a powerful racquet you have to hit with a lot of top spin to drop the ball in without sailing long. If that's not your natural shot then I see why the Tours suit you better. It sounds like the shots that inherently benefit from more power are working out with the Warrior but the fundamentals are better executed with your Tours.

is your Tour stock or did you customize?

I have one Tex Tour 100T that is completely stock and one that has just recently been customized. Weight added to handle, 3 and 9 and 12, bringing total weight to 11.6 oz. My natural shot is normally a fast topspin forehand and slice backhand with an occasional topspin backhand. The 100T just felt right to me the first time I hit with it about a year ago. The 100P (which is stock) initially felt a little underpowered but solid. Slowly it grew on me and I realized I was winning a lot of matches with it despite a little less power and spin than the 100T. I could just hit out and wail forehands with very few going long. I can do that sometimes with the Warrior and my topspin will keep it in and make it hard for someone to get a shot back, but.....the ball will sail on me sometimes too. I don't seem to be able to tell what the ball will do when it leaves the strings...hit a winner or a shot that ends up 3 feet long lol. I guess I am just not used to the power of the Warrior yet. I have been sticking with my Warrior, and staying with one frame definitely helps (for me). I have fallen into a nice groove with it, and I will not be changing anything on it for at least another week! (I am leaving it as is...at 330 grams strung) I know where the ball is going to land, know how it is going to act, and I have nailed the timing down with it. I wish I had more eloquent feedback, but I just played, and won with the Warrior, and I can't really verbalize why. I think it just allows me to play the game and not think about my racquet.

Lol, yeah, but I have a small army on the way...what to do.... I strung up my TC-100 with new strings today (head sonic pro edge) so I can do the comparison that Racketeer asked about. I really wish I lived in a warmer area. It's hard to be a delinquent racquetaholic and play indoors while living life at the same time :(

JohnB and Beach... Both of you play with different Prince frames... Please rate them in a few weeks as to which one is your go to frame, etc. Again, your recommendation and TW review will influence whether I buy the T Warrior 100.
 
If you are in the USA and in TW demo program range, I would highly recommend making up a demo box of all Textreme awesomeness!! I have loved every Textreme frame, and am a die hard Prince fanatic. I just don't want to steer anyone wrong, due to my love for Prince :) I stick by my evaluation that the Warrior, is a Tour 100T with more power (thicker beam, higher stiffness, same amount of awesome). Have you had a chance to hit with the Champions Choice a second and third time (I found nat gut/poly the get better after the first outing). I am coming back from a recent overdose of Textreme, and I love all my frames, but life is a little easier at times, when you don't have so many choices of awesome frames :) There should be another user hopefully going to share some thoughts on this frame as well (if he can figure a way to get into the post office!!):D
 
Finally got to hit with the Warrior 100. It's strung with the new Prince Warrior Response.

The first thing that impressed me was the comfortable and clean feel. I had recently wrapped up testing a racquet from a different brand, which had nuked my arm due to its harshness, so moving to the Warrior was awesome.

The next thing that jumped out at me was how easy it is to play with. Both power and spin come without much effort, so all I needed to do was relax and pick my targets. This was especially true on serve - I'm not sure I've hit with a racquet that was ever this easy to serve with.

How do you like the new Warrior string mitchman (I have some coming this week, and want to throw it in the Warrior, just to call myself "The Ultimate Warrior!")
 
Is the Prince Warrior Response the string recommended for the Textreme Warrior 100...? Tell me about this string ? Can't find on net...

I like the string a lot. It's essentially a hybrid string (poly outer, elastomer core). The feel is soft, so it doesn't kill my arm, but I still get greater spin potential than a syn gut or multi.

Also, I imagine the durability will be better than my standard hybrid setup.
 
I have yet to hit with the Tour 95, but I will have a chance this week :) Chalk up another win for the Textreme Warrior!! I just won a league match and came away the victor (it was insanely fun, we had a bubble to ourselves and were literally screaming at the top of our lungs and laughing like maniacs) I did use my Angell for 3 games and lost all 3 (I just strung it, and I need to hit with it again and dedicate more than 3 games with it, now that the strings have settled in) I went back to the Warrior to close it out 6-1, 2-6, 6-1. Warrior first and third sets ;) the two wins in the second set were with my customized Tour 100T (Black Shark & 330 grams). I can't wait to hear what TW says about this stick, I am now leaning more towards this frame, than my Tex Tour 100T's. I think if an APD and a TT100T had a baby, it would called a Textreme Warrior!!
 
More and more each day. I am thinking of tricking myself, and only carrying a single racquet bag for awhile, instead of my 12 pack of various levels of awesome :) (as i say this, I am having a hard time envisioning a world without my 12 pack!)

i never carry more than 2 at a time for individal matches. got a cheap little backpack that holds racquets, beer, and tennis balls. sometimes i dont even bring it, i just carry the racquets out there. the idea is to make my opponent think i am an easily defeated bush league hack. then when im easily defeated their suspicious are validated

My friend used to carry his stuff to matches in a Walmart plastic sack. Kind of funny for a high 4.5 who can hit the ball through plywood. :)

I remember the days of when I had one racquet (Prince O3 White) and I carried it around in the single case. I treasured that thing and thought I had the best frame on the planet!! These were the days before I found TW and a racquet shop to me, was the local sporting goods store. Then I stepped it up to a Prince Victory 6 pack!! Lol, I was in heaven!! I went out to the court thinking I was awesome (and of course, you can't carry one racquet in a 6 pack! I started getting more frames) Shortly after that, I found the "Climate Control" bags. I had never used Natural gut at this point, so I used it as a ghetto cooler for my water bottles :) I finally ended with the Prince Textreme Tour 12 pack, and it is awesome!! It is funny when you look back, and see how your perceptions and preferences change over the course of time. Going to go full circle and try carrying one freshly strung frame (probably won't last long lol) It is a terrible feeling when I get destroyed in the higher league I joined, and the person brings one sporting good frame with year old strings and no case :( They have been playing for a long time :) I am positive they can beat me with a Wal Mart frame
 
I was buy the Prince Textreme Warrior in l2 and i am think its closed to the Balde 98s.
For me the Prince have more stability but it looks for me the Blade have more Power then the Prince.

Anyone switched from the Blade 98s to the Warrior or anyone can compare these 2 ?
I am really thinking the sell my Prince....

TW has just posted the T Warrior 100 review on YouTube ... Watching Isner right now... He is using the T Warrior 100, I believe..btw: the racquet was tested with various strings ... polys, mult... Chris liked Alpha Gut multifilament the most...

See if you can get a close look at the head of the frame. I thought he used ports with PJ to disquise it. That's quite a significant switch if he went back to traditional grommet system. The full TW written review is also up. Looks like they liked it. It's definitely on my demo list. I'm looking for something blend of PCG 100 and 100P (the 100T wasn't it) -- both of which I love hitting with.
 
Only caught the color, which was back and white with white inner hoop..

I knew they were going to like it :) it is a sweet frame!! I am probably going to switch to it as well. I am not positive, but when I asked Prince about prostocks, their response was that their players are going to be using the Textreme in 2016. I wonder what a few grams under the bumperguard would do to this frame... I also want to see how the new Prince Warrior Response string plays in it.
 
i just went to drills last night and did absolutely terribly. my knees, feet, and shins started hurting and i couldnt focus on anything other than the pain. mishits, weak shots, balls sailing beyond baseline. i finally just left.

im gonna use that warrior as-is. i think that 10.6 oz, 320 ish SW is a sweetspot for compromise on power and control.
 
That sucks N8dawg6. I got manhandled last night, by a girl :) I left my warrior in the car, and took the angell. I got to see what 5.0 and up looks like...humbling experience. I can't blame any racquet though. They just had more experience than me, and perfect technique. It was doubles, and basically I got thrown to the wolves. Lol, at one point, I thought to myself, "I should go get the Warrior out of the car". I actually laughed at myself for a second. There isn't a racquet made, that would of made last night any easier :)
 
I have a feeling that the sweetspot is not as big as i would like (or is it just me)?
Maybe the Ai/Dr spoiled me?

I'm pretty sure Isner posted a pic of his new TT Warrior on instagram or twitter. Legit, no ported stick with a new pj.
 
Has anyone measured the real life swingweight of the Warrior 100 (other than TW obviously)? I've found Prince frames often come in lower than published SW.

Where do you play indoors? I used to play at the Racquet Club in Monroeville way back when I lived in Pgh.

It's still there! It's called, "The Club" now but everyone still calls it the racquet club! I play at the Mt Lebanon clay courts, Alpha tennis center (rarely), Squirrel Hill's bubble. (I play at Squirrel Hill's bubble more than any of them) I just found out about the Mt Lebanon one from a TT member. If I could rewind the hands of time, I would have started playing tennis earlier :( but I still have a blast, and am constantly trying to get better and more consistent. If you come to The 'Burgh again, send me a message, it would be fun to hit! I graduated from Gateway in '98 :) They now have amazing outdoor courts! I am very familiar with Monroeville. Textreme Warrior :) Just to stay on topic, I wish I had access to a RDC machine (or a Prince Tuning Center) I always choose the heaviest one out of whatever I get.
 
I'm trying to find information about the Prince Warrior Response string : can't find anywhere, even though the playtesters and others are using it...

Warrior Response is a hybrid in itself, combining the best of both worlds in one string. The soft polymer inside delivers great touch and comfort while the outer co-extruded polyester provides amazing control and spin potential.

I agree when it comes to the Tour sticks (I own the TT95/100P/100T). Haven't tried the others unf.

The 100P is not a bad stick, I like it, I just feel it is a somewhat of a compromise between the 100T and TT95, and that I tend to choose either the TT95 - for rock solidness, hard hitting and control - or the TT100T for spin, easy depth, easy backhands.

Can we order this, now? Chris Edwards made it very apparent that he liked Alpha Gut 2000 in the T Warrior 100, which is interesting because he is a poly user... I am playing with hybrids and XT18...I also have played with NRG2 and Biphase... I hit mostly flat and slice ; multis are recommended for me... So I will order the TWarrior 100 strung with Alpha Gut 2000.... I am assuming a 16 gauge... I have to figure out the tension .

Agree with you regarding 100P.
IMHO, if your playing style is hitting majority from the base line and spin strokes then 100T with some lead is great, but if you are all court player w/o extreme spins the TT95 is a winner.
