Prince Tour 100 users (Ferrer, Granollers...)

I haven't found anything about pros adding lead tape to Prince Tour 100. Do you know anything about lead tape and balance of Ferrer's, Granoller's and other Tour 100 users?

Well to start, Ferrer is using a paint job and is still using the old Ozone Tour with the round O-ports. On top of that, it's a custom job with extended length. Not sure about the exact specs.

I just got 3 of them the other day. I have only had a chance to hit with it for about an hour, but it seems like it's a great frame that doesn't get the attention it deserves. I wish O Ports weren't such a polarizer of opinions. I got the 16x18 version, strung it with Kirschbaum Super Smash Orange at 50lbs, whole racquet felt like a giant sweet spot!! I love the thin beam, and the paint job looks so much better in person! I plan on weighing it up close to David Ferrer's specs (even though it's not his frame, he still endorses it). I have been trying to get my hands on a TX141P which is his frame.

The pros are mostly using rackets with balance around 2-4pts HL. Is this the balance I should be looking for? I can't play with really HL racket. Adding 12 grams would give me 3pts HL according to WH Customization Tool. SW 355 and total weight 338g. This is probably enough.

Do you guy prefer ports or hole grommets? I'm getting Prince Tour 100 Pro Stock XL next month. Ports or hole grommets better?

Adding that much weight don't put it under the grommets until you are sure. I would distribute it more along the entire hoop than having it all at noon. I've added 10-12g at noon before and hated it.

I added 12g around 3 o'clock (6g each side). Racket should be now 3pts HL or 33,2cm balance. I like it more than previous 8g at 2. It's more powerful, but not to heavy.

Alan Hill, That is awesome you are getting a Pro Stock frame! A few months ago, I would have said get the Ports, no question. But now with the new Textreme line, I am liking the normal grommets as well. It all comes down to personal preference though. There is no wrong answer. I would weigh the pros and cons of each and then make your choice. You are going to get more feel with the grommets, but I think the ports add more pop.

Try adding some lead! I added 4 grams at 3 and 9, and 7 on the handle (so 15 gr totally)..... makes a hell of a stable ride. Only complaint I still have after that, is lack of speed at serve. Spin/slice serves are great though.

I decided to go with ports. They say ports add more pop and feel more flexy
Totally agree with your feedback on Textreme. Same as you i really enjoy testing Textreme. I think Textreme add great stable feel on the throat. First I thought it stiff but actually it makes the racquet feel much stable and crisp.

I have been bouncing between an O3 White and Textreme Tour 100T. Today though, I am taking the Tour 100 16x18 out on the court! When my Textreme Warriors arrive, my mind is just going to explode :) Ports, Exo3 holes, or grommets. As long as it says Prince, it is always a great stick! Do you know what the static weight will be on your Pro Stock? Also, what flex it will be, and do you already know what you want the specs to end up being (most people buy pro stocks, and then bring them up to their specs)

I totally agree! I have a few ;) I just got a brand new one, added 8 grams to the handle, and then 6 grams spread out from 10-2, underneath the bumperguard. I am stringing it up tonight, and adding a leather grip. It will be ready for battle tomorrow morning!!! It is my favorite racquet, released this year.

314g unstrung, 31.8cm, 314 unstrung swing weight, 27.5 length. I don't know the flex yet. But I also bought the retail 100 Tour, will be able to compare with Pro Stock.

This is very similar to my set up. I tried 3&9 but didn't work. I found polarizing work better with Textreme 100T .

I started with even more weight 10-2, took some off...and it has been working out perfectly. I lucked into it kind of :) But I can't complain about the results. I am very interested in hearing your comparison between the Pro and Retail frames. I have always wanted a Pro Stock, but haven't made the decision to get one. If it is a whole lot better, then I would be inclined to go forward purchasing one. But if the differences are minimal, I will feel much better about my retail frames.

I have hit with Wilson H19, which is complete different racket compare to the retail frame. Wilson and Head Prostock different to retail.
Babolat and Prince Prostock I think have similar characteristic to the retail frame.

That is great news! I was surfing the web, and came upon a site that sells Pro Stocks in new and used condition. The Prince ones were actually not that expensive, around $250, the ones I actually wanted. That's not much more than a retail frame MAP price

I paid 640 Euro for 4 brand new frames (about 175 USD each)
The guy sold me these Prostocks even has Prostock Textreme 100T XL but only 1 available, I prefer buying at least 2.
Really not overpriced like Head and Wilson Prostocks.

That is so sweet!!! You didn't grab the Textreme, though right? You just grabbed the 4 Tours correct? Thank you for posting the pics of them!!! Do you already have a rough idea of what you are going to bring them up to (if you are going to customize them) I just woke up lol, I had to edit this post like 3 times. I can't even find the words to describe how awesome those are, this early in the morning! Good finds!

He only had 1 Textreme. I prefer to get 2 or more so I picked the Tours. I will need to swing the untouched frame first. Right now my Textreme 100T which is close to yours set up (326g by leather grip and lead at 12, buttcap) feel perfect. So I will stick around this spec.
Btw your photos are great. What body and lens?

How have the Pro Stocks been playing @Alan_Hill ? I am getting around to adding a leather grip this morning to my Tour 16x18's. I will add hoop weight on next restring (I need to get some grommet sets before they are gone) Lol, I am going to have a 12 pack full of 330 gram strung frames, matched and balanced :)

Alan, I was wondering if you have taken the grip off your pro stocks yet? If, and when you do, can you tell me what the handle is made of/looks like (take a pic if you can!!) If it is the same as a retail frame, just extended and lighter, that is great news!! Basically, I can just keep weighting mine up and adding leather grips! (I keep bugging Prince to sell me a couple Pro Stocks!! I am sure they would love it if I stop!!)

Hi Bro,
I'm still waiting for my racquets to arrive. I think it delays for a while because of the holiday break.
Will keep you up to date bro.

Those look awesome!!! What is the thing that looks like Textreme in your trunk?!?!?! It's above the throat of the top racquet. Can't wait to hear how they play!! It's one of the most underrated frames, and almost never talked about on this board!! Did you get them from Pro stock tennis . com? Or do you know someone amazing?

Congratulations on being my hero for the day!!! I wish I could fly out and hit with you. Those are beautiful!!!

Hi bro
I have a Textreme bag
These Tour 100 prostock swing very fast. And great thing is I can customize the feel of the frame by mixing with the port or string hole grommets. I have read port grommet plays more forgiving more pop, spin and comfortable. String hole grommet gives more control and solid feel. Moreover I can hybrid them: main strings with port grommet, cross strings with string hole grommet, how that sounds?

I bought these Prince prostock from a Spanish guy. I've heard Prince gives prostock and customized frames for junior player in Spain and Italy as well. These frames used to belong to a wta player. One of them still have the sticker from 2015 Wimbledon.
I'm getting another pair of Tour Team 100 prostock from Italy. This one even more interesting. 22mm beam. Only 300g unstrung and XL as well. This guy is an expert of Prince prostock. He said Tour team even more solid and stable and powerful

I just discovered the Tour 100 with the O-port. It swings so fast, so plush, and a lovely big sweetspot, just magic. Is a pity that the O-port technology was not a commercial success.
I agree. Came upon the Tour 100 last May/June when searching for a more flexible, forgiving racquet. Haven't looked back!

In commentary of the match against Hewitt the other night Courrier said Ferrer's switch was for more power, and they were noting it on his Bab Play.

Yeah my significant one uses them (too light for me and I'm not into adding weight).
