Prince Triple Threat Warrior

Hey everyone.

Here's the biz - with that good ol' holiday with the trees inside and lights outside come...presents! For me, that's treating myself to my first new racquet in two years!

It's going to be the Prince Triple Threat Warrior MS (97 sq. in.), bought straight from the good folks at Tennis Warehouse.

The question is this: As a Wilson user (NCode N6 for the last two years), is there anything I need to be aware of as I transition to the Prince brand?

well i think the main difference you'd feel is the grip shape... the prince grip is a bit more square so it might be uncomfortable at first and you'll take some time finding your grip.

also even if u find a comfortable spot the racquet may rest at a different angle on ur hand than your old wilson so u may also have to adjust your strokes accordingly...

well yup thats about all the input i have cuz i have no experience with the n6. tho i've used the n6.1 95 and hps 6.1 95 before switching to the tt warrior mp so i was, too, a wilson to prince switcher

Hey, cool!

Good to hear that the switch can be made. A friend of mine tried to swear off Wilson last year and go for only Head racquets...It was awful, he lost nearly all his matches with a fairly sturdy Head model (Ti.S6? S7?).

I had heard and seen pictures of the grip shape change you mentioned, and I think I'll be fine. Had not, however, heard the tip about the angle being different than a Wilson - thanks.

Nice stick! Sweet on volleys and great for producing topspin. The OS version is also excellent, which is why I'll be holding onto mine forever.

im switching to prince too, tt warrior mp just bought it a few minuets ago seems like everyone is switching to prince even the pros

Yeah, a bunch of the top women are Prince users I know, and some of the men have also switched (Bryans). So is that super-charismatic superstar, Davy-whatshisface.

Seriously though, I've heard that Prince is a pretty durable company and lasts for ages. I was going to go with Dunlop, because an uncle of mine played with an old model of theirs for nearly a decade, but when I used it I felt...weird. My forehands were lacking depth and pace, so no dice.

Great choice. I have one myself. Its quite a powerful racquet (though I don't have experience with the N6) so make sure you don't string it too loose.

Nice choice. I personally didn't really like the n6. It felt too light, and I really couldn't hit my shots too well with it (I was using a n5 at the time). You'll find that you'll be able to hit your shots with a lot more control, better drop shots, and in general, more power. Have fun!

My friend uses an N5, and I must admit that, having hit with it a few times, it seems to be a superior racquet to the N6.

From what I hear, it IS really powerful.

What's a good tension? It comes strung, but I will probably have it restrung very quickly. Is 58 too loose, or is that okay?

I'm a lefty, eastern forehand, primarily an aggressive baseliner who mixes in serve and volley maybe 25% of the time.
