What's the latest on Prince? Any news?
Are they still going to be around in a few years?
New line coming this summer.
I just heard they're bringing back the ' Diablo & Graphite, but not until summer.
Strange world. Prince planning a comeback but it's day-to-day for Twinkies.
Really? I hadn't heard that. Where did you come across this info?
I was at a tennis shop yesterday & the guy working there told me the ' Prince rep" gave him the info.
New versions, or the same that TW has had all along?
I believe new versions, probably close to same specs, but don't quote me on that - that's all I know:-|
Interesting. My rep is holding out on me
Noticed Prince rackets at Sports Authority are ending up in clearance...anticipating a new line?
New performance racquet line comes out in June
I believe prince is going back to a traditional grommet system
Prince has not filed any new patents for new technology. So they might bring back some of their old school technology. Triple threat technology was actually pretty good.
wow a smart move for once...could be interesting
Just talked to my rep yesterday and they're coming out with 3 new players frames in the summer. They're going to be available with EXO3 technology and traditional grommets (not just exo3 inserts, but regular molds with traditional grommets). They don't have names of the rackets yet, but they're in their new catalog.
What new catalog? They don't have one for the summer yet.
Completely unrelated, but why is your username James Bond, but your avatar pic is Magnum P.I. ?
Maybe he considers Magnum PI the James Bond of Hawaii?
Thanks for the replies. Heard that they declared bankruptcy about 8 months ago and was just interested to know was the latest was. Great to see that they're coming out with new equipment/lines.
Well, I just love both characters
Good one
Im loyal to EXO ports I dont see any advantage for Prince to sell traditional frames, as EXO port with "traditional string hole insert" is same!
Not exactly the same, but a nice compromise between ports/traditional.
Traditional frames could bring a larger audience to the brand, as many refused to like the ports.
The got brought out by a private equity firm after their bankruptcy filing. Plenty of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ now for everything and more!
Triple Threat was stopped due a lawsuit by Wilson saying it was too close to their Perimeter Weighting System. Doubt we'll see that again.
Really? I hadn't heard that. The new Wilson Steam S racquets totally copied Prince's racquet/marketing plan for this cycle. All is fair in love and war (tennis) I guess.
I doubt any company would "re-use" old marketing/technology strategies in terms of racquet design. They might include the idea, but they wouldn't base a whole line of technology that has come and gone.
Odd that these racquets are still for sale that use Triple Threat technology:
Prince Triple Threat Warrior
Prince Tour Diablo - which says it at on the racquet at those positions.
Seems like if there was a lawsuit they wouldn't still be selling these.
Separate names with a comma.
