Yeah I'm at Scott AFB. Great stateside base, though I'm starting to get that itch to go back overseas.

Just thought I'd reach out and see if there are any prior Military folks on the boards but anyone is welcome to post.
do you think in the future military men will be replace by robot military soldiers ? and how would warfare change if and when that happens. Would the country that can make better smarter military androids win the war ? and what If they get too smart and want to turn on their creators ?

The current AI today has far less brain power than an insect
AI will not exist until later this century

By mid century AI could be that of a dog
By late century maybe an ape
By early next century a human

Disagree according to my friends in Cal tech. AI capable of human mind minus the emotions will be available by middle of this century. Plus they will have computing powers that is vastly superior to human beings. They will be superior in many respects to humans but just won't have emotions. They will be better than humans.

This AI with vastly superior computing power and mind will be scary to human beings. They won't have the emotions yet because they haven't evolved or is capable of computing emotions.

I will give you an example. When we decide there are too many coyotes in the forest and they are eating farm animals, we decide to have a hunting season. and we decide to cut down their population by half and problem solved. What if AI decides that there are too many humans on Earth and we are becoming detrimental to environment and earth ? Would AI decide that it would be best to cut down the human population by half ?? Of course, this is not a problem as long as we are in control of the AI.

4 years in the US Navy. Bootcamp in Orlando, then school in Pensacola, FL. 2 years stationed in Scotland then last year on Diego Garcia.
Orlando NTC closed two decades ago. It was peaking in the late 80’s and I ran the kitchen at the nearest Chili’s over on Highway 436 on the east side of the hospital in Winter Park in 1986-7.

7 Years Air Force myself. Went from Andrews AFB to Korea to hawaii to South Dakota. Got out in 2007 and settled home where I grew up. Kinda feels like its time for me to PCS and move and stuff. Havent gotten used to being in one place for so long.

Where did you station in Korea? I know few of air bases over there.

I'm a combat model for Colonization Defense Program. A month ago I escaped my duties along with a couple of friends to meet my maker in LA. Unfortunately, a stupid cop killed most of my friends. I was about to kill him but changed my mind at the last second and actually saved his life. ******* didn't even thank me. He just left me to die on the roof of this building. He doesn't know I'm still alive. Nobody does. I'm just sitting here waiting to die. Good thing I have this smartphone and a few doves to kill time with.

7 years as an army brat in North West Germany in the late 80's-early 90's. No military experience myself, but I remember the military presence that affected pretty much everything in my life at the time.
It's never lupus.

Hey everybody! Use to float around here on the forums as a stupid high schooler and now I'm currently in, coming up on 2 years and about to pin on 1t Lt. Dad did 24 years enlisted (yes he was my first salute!) and I'm happy to be carrying on the family legacy of serving. Super happy to see fellow military floating around here.

In its debut, ThanksUSA and JTCC, one of the nation's leading tennis training facilities, have partnered to connect aspiring tennis players with military Veterans, creating an environment of positive role models and community engagement at the club. With mutual respect and camaraderie, Veterans also benefit through the rehabilitative effects of weekly adaptive tennis clinics and social interaction. "
