I just received a Ki 5 PSE from TW. Generally, it seems to play around the same as the 5G PSE it is augmenting, but the frame seems to be much more lively. According to TW stats, it's a more flexible frame, though (apparantly contrary to TW stats) it has a very slightly wider beam. The Ionic tech seems to keep the "stuff" more freely moving, and it is louder when you shake the racquet (but not noticeable during play).
While in normal play, the racquet plays generally very similar to the 5g PSE, I am curious about one thing that is possibly a result of the different frame: the Ki5 PSE is a ping-y racquet. Even with a full dampener, it pings, and if I knock the racquet's strings against the edge of another racquet, with my fingers on the Y of the throat, I can feel vibration. With my 5G PSE, set up exactly the same in terms of string, tension, dampener, no vibration is transmitted to the throat, and the sound is muffled.
So I wonder, is the racquet supposed to be so lively, despite a well dampened stringbed? Any other Ki 5 PSE owners have same or different experience?
