Pro Kennex Type C Redondo Midplus Review

Kennex makes great frames. The Ki5 PSE was their best, the offered in for over 15 years, but finally discontinued it, ironically not long after the huge deal release of the Wilson RF97, which is very close spec wise to the Ki5 PSE. Of course. the PSE was about $100 + cheaper. It was .3 ounces or so heavier. And the Kennex ionic bead system is way underappreciated to me.

Anyone here still using the Redondo MP?
Is it easy on the arm?

I've had the 93 Redondo and MP.
I would rate them as pretty easy on the arm
The 93 is a control frame, low'ish launch angle, fairly hard work. The MP a bit more power, bigger sweet spot. Bit less precision.

I like 98 or thereabouts frames.

I wanted more zip and re-found Volkl C10 Pro, C9 Pro (discontinued for years and years) both of which I still have.

The Redondo's are low RA, old school racquets. They don't feature the Basalt sand kinetic tech in the hoop and handle of some PK models.

A lot of us migrated to frames with more power many years ago. I'm using the IG Prestige MP. A low power frame but more than the Redondo and it's enough for me.

I think it's also an 16x20 which is more consistent and control than RF97A. It hits bigger with more control, just needs more effort.

I never gelled with the Ki5 PSE. It didn't have the best feedback - the frame felt vague on hits. It might have been the kinetic system. I like the RF97 a lot better in that you get crisper feedback and more spin. The whole industry has gone to higher twistweight for comfort and that seems to have worked.

Ok What current 98 Sq inch rackets would be similar to The Redondo 98 in your opinion??

I don't really do current racquets:)

The Redondo was rather unique in feel.

I personally preferred the Volkl C10 Pro. I have and early bumblebee paint job one and a 2017 or 2018 version. I did have a 2013 version too for a while. They are 98s but 16x19s.

I've hit with some nice feeling Prince 97 sqin racquets, they were 18x20.

I'm definitely more a 16x19 kind of player, than a 18x20.
