Pro Staff 6.0 95 compared to Fischer M COMP 95

Hi All,

Does anyone have any feedback on how the M Comp 95 compares to the PS 6.0 95 (or HPS 6.0 95)? Im looking for similar specs to the PS and two real difference's seem to be Swing weight, and stiffness.

I've read the Fischer is actually much stiffer than the specs suggest?

Also is it a tough stick to maneuver?

Cheers

I think the people reporting that the Fischer is much stiffer than reported are used to stringing tight. The Fischers, and especially the M-Comp needs a low tension in order to work (it will still have plenty of control even at low tensions).
I've only played one for a few minutes and all I can tell is that it had a great balance and it seemed to come through naturally, especially on the serves. Great serving racket.
NOT what I would call "very maneuverable" but it's not a log either. Underrated racket...

Did you mean the HPS 6.1 (not 6.0)?

If so, I can tell you that the main difference between the two is power. The HPS 6.1 had way more power than the M-Comp.

Now, I used the 27.5" version, which had an 18x20 pattern, but I'm fairly certain they were the same frame (even if the official specs say otherwise).

I have a few friends who still hit w/ their HPS 6.1, and they've hit w/ my M-Comps. They all said the weight/balance were similar, but the M-Comps just didn't have that 'pop' the HPS had.

It does play stiffer than the specs say, and I'm stringing Nat Gut mains / Poly cross at 58lbs. I expected that gooey feeling (no other word to describe it) 60-flex rackets usually give me, and my previous frames were all 68+ stiffness (Bab PC 'swirly', HPS 6.1, Yonex RD Power 10 Long). But they feel just perfect to me.

I have the ps95. Nice racquet. I'd say the MComp has more power and you probably wouldn't need to lead it. Not for me but there are some posters here who really like it and yeah at the right tension it could be a great weapon. I enjoyed hitting with it. I don't think they are really anything alike.

Thanks for the feedback, unfortunately no demos but they are a available for a very good price right now, may take the gamble as one of my hps appears to be developing a crack!

I thought the MComp was a very strange racket. Yes, you do have to string it low, but even then it has odd playing characteristics. You may like it but MAKE SURE you demo it.

Found my old review of the MComp:

i agree Mcomp is very strange. i cant hit good backhands with it and it i also have the tendency to hit high looping shots on my groundstrokes. with its characteristics i shouldnt have problems with my SHBH. :(

i suspect maybe my cyberblue strings just doesnt work on this racquet - i'll give it another shot with the Kirschbaum Spiky Shark 17g strings which was absolutely amazing on the M Pro #1(kafenikov).

The M comp 95 is a great racquet. I tried to switch to it a few months ago from the 6.0 95.

The swingweight was just too much. Other than that it was killer. I was very disappointed. The M Pro #1 98 was the closer fit to the 6.0 95. That's what I went with.

Both Fischers offered more spin and power than the 6.0 95, which I had used for 15+ years. I hope Pacific does an M comp 95 with swingweight between 315 and 320. I'd be all over it.

If you want another great option that's a killer deal right now, gow with the Head Liquidmetal Radical Mid Plus. Sweet racquet and very similar to the 6.0 95...just a little lighter.
