Hi,
Anyone still playing with the Pro Staff Classic 4.2 or 6.1? I use the 4.2 and am currently using synthetic gut. I am considering trying a multi like Prince Premiere Control but am concerned it might be too powerful for this racquet.

What strings are you using in these classics?

I'm currently using the 6.1 classic 18/20. I use a multi in the crosses, but a poly in the mains for just that reason.

Occasionally I'll hit with a pro staff 6.1 16x18. I strung it full bed with a round, slippery poly @ 24kgs/23kgs. Great fun!

I am afraid to use poly given that the 4.2 is so stiff. I am going to give the multi a try, I just hope it does not turn into a rocket launcher. Guess I have to try it to find out.

PS Classic 6.1 Stretch

I play with the 18x20 pattern on 27" frame. I cut it down to increase maneuverability and added weight to make it more head light. Love this stick. I have two more, another 18x20 and the 16x18. The 18x20 frames are 13oz, the 16x18 is 14oz. All three are ~ 14pts hl.

Hi dtomelden....
Where do you play in Marin? I know most of the 4.0 guys at Albert's Field in SanPablo, have played in Fairfax with the 4.5 doubles afternoon crew, and BoylePark with the weekday PM doubles crew.
Got to regularly practice with the DomincanCollege team back in the '90's, and know the MillerPark (next to the firehouse) crew.

Hi Lee, I play at Marinwood, Smith Ranch, Lucas Valley, TLH and Pioneer Park. I used to play at Tassajara and Alvarado parks in EC the East Bay. Where do you play now?

I put NXT Max in my old rackets. It lasts far longer than any other multi I've found. It is comfortable and has a wear shield on the outside of the string for the long life. That way I'm not wearing out the grommets stringing it all the time either from popping syngut or multis or poly going dead and I don't have to worry about poly on my arm.
