Read a big part of Hager/Swagger potentially signing with AEW is the promised lightened touring schedule and keeping his abilty to compete in MMA.

Seems like Bellator is bring him along slowly hius opponents only pro fight was a loss in which he got TKOs in 24 seconds.

I expect Swagger to dominate this guy.

Reports and videos out there saying Rousey is probably done after Mania. Not that surprising as her schtick has well worn off on me. And my buddy art the MCW show said "why does everyone like Rousey so much"

So maybe they screw her out of the belt at the Rumble and set up the 4v4 that way. That 4v4 will suck though. Duke and Shafir aint ready, Bazler is pretty good Ronda aint bad she hits her high spot moves and sells pretty well. But how can Banks, Bayley, Becky and Charlotte lose any 4v4 womens match?

Charlotte would be more believable beating Brock than Finn would for me. Becky aside from her bland frumpy ring attire is great. Butter face Bayley has that stupid hug gimmick but is a pretty good performer. Banks I don't care for too much, but she makes everything looks dangerous nd people seem to like her.

I would like to, but don't think I can due to the mrs being asleep next to me while I am watching. LOL

Shall we create a new thread for it and we start commentating on it from the start?
We can keep it in here then :)
Hoping for legit surprise entrants, something that has been missing for years. Kharma on the womens side would be nice ;)

All the speculation points to Seth. I'm not into him like I was back when he was Triple's guy, but disappointment at most things WWE mean nobody is really hot in my mind. I'd love some real game changing thing to happen. Get Rock in there for the win. It all feels too obivous. Yeah, I guess it should be obvious when you're leading into mania. Maybe not obvious, maybe it is the list of potential winners of the rumble match made me sad. :p Not exactly death row.

But I hope to be able to just sit back and enjoy. Have to stop being so anti WWE. lol

That girl shoved the 355 like it was nothing. Looked like she coulda repped it 2 or 3 times. Is she Mark Henry's daughter?

Havent watched all of takeover yet but did watch the rumble in its entirety (2 hour pre show included). 7 hours of wrestling I'm a bit fatigued. minor Spoilers to ensue.

It was their chance top shake things but they basically status quo'd it and not in a very inventive fashion.

If what they have going on with the Raw tag belts is the best they can do just get rid of the belts.

US Title match had dumb ending, but wasn't expecting a prolonged Rusev run which is a shame because he has done enough to deserve a upper mid card run. But I guess Rusev and Lana were jobbing for Becky 6 hours before the rumble match.

Not sure they care about 205 live that much but Buddy Murphy does feel like the right champ right now still.

If Ronda vs Becky is the plan for WM main event Asuka retaining the way she did felt right. Really the only match that felt like it belonged on PPV card to me.

Tag Title match was the ending expected and the match wasn't bad. Part of me was expecting a Miz heel turn to set up Miz vs Shane at mania for rights to that dumb trophy. But shane hit his high spots and threw a bunch looking punches. I think the Bar is great but would love to see Cesaro get a push towards main event status. Maybe me for the bar to be done.

Ronda had another awkward match. That last finisher she hit looked pretty bad too. Didn't think Sasha was getting up for a second. Get ready for a barrage of crappy Ronda promos leading up to mania.

Womens Rumble was very meh. It was basically waiting to see how Becky would insert herself into the match. Were we supposed to know Fit Finlay has say over what happens in these matches? Charlotte played heel part great fans would have been outraged if she won that match. I expect Charlotte to face Asuka at Mania for Asuka to get revenge on Charlotte for breaking her streak.

Erick Rowan WTF. I guess watch smackdown to see what that's about.

Thought they mighta gave Finn the win. Instead he looks like a beast doing his 3 moves repeatedly until hitting his finisher and getting tapped out. Not a good match in my opinion, but loved the straight up trolling of the WWE universe with the finish.

Rumble started out with Elias and any Elias is a good thing. His joke got way over something to the effect of "48,123 people showed up to watch Elias. I should take a picture and send it to the Diamondbacks so they know what that looks like"
The double J comes out and they do a little bit if stuff Elias eventually cracks him with a guitar. The match started and they were running short on time and rushed the crap out of it. Was pulling for Drew but felt Seth of Braun were gonna win. As soon as seth and Braun both got laid out and left outside the ring I knew they would be the final 2.

Not the worst PPV but when the high spot for me after 7 hours of PPV is Nia beating down R Truth and putting herself into he rumble at #30 only to eliminated Mustafa Ali who they have been building up like crazy over the past few months and then getting 619d and RKOd I think they missed the mark.

Still gotta watch NXT Womens title and Ciampa but so far Richchet Gargano was easily best match of the weekend.

Saturday we got this Worlds collide tournament. Don't know much about it but between NXT, 205, and UK winner gets a title shot of his choice. I'm guessing tons of greats matches in this one. Superbowl weekend is cracking up to be better than Royal Rumble weekend.

And then we get halftime heat. Alestair Black, Velveteen, and Ricochet vs Cole, Gargano, and Ciampa. Should be another great match.

It is all too great for me now. I'm a sucker for 3 hours on ppv and 2 hours tv. Everything has changed and I can't keep up. Just killing my enthusiasm for anything. Don't even want to check out the rumble now. Read the results and that is good enough for me.
Especially when the match-ups are the same, week after week. Pity there is no swerve like Brock getting jumped behind the curtain by Balor Club.

They got too many belts man. And then when one isn't defended it feels off. The rumble has the rumble matches themselves so it makes sense but once they get womens tag belts fck it'll just be slew of title matches and one or two one offs. mania is gonna be a long slog.

Andre Battle Royale (if they still do it)
Womens version of the Andre Battle Royale (yea, equality)
205 live
105 live - womesn cruiserweight. Why not :)
Mens tag

womens tag

Womens title

After all that and time between matches, HoF inductee honoring, Warrior award, and whatever else they got doesn't leave much time for the old stupid stuff they used to do like Kane tombstoning Pete Rose.

RR used to be my favorite event. I can’t pick exactly when that changed. 2010 maybe. I don’t know. There just are not any stars. The next guys look like kids at my local ymca swim team.

in 2010 there wasn't such a definitive gap in who was mid card and who was champ material. If 2010 was the year that got you off edge won the rumble that by chucking Cena out last year but there was a handful of guys that could have won just the same.

Taker and Shaemus were champs and faced Rey and Orton respectively. But CM Punk, HBK, Trips, Jericho, and Batista could have all won and it could have worked. 2010 was also the year Beth Phoenix elimated Khali.

Sunday it was really only going to be Braun or Rollins, or a Roman come back. So he element of surprise and suspense is gone. Add in the fact the Braun and Seth both got layed out and seemed to rest for 15 minutes in the middle of the match made this year extra lame.

I like your 2010 theory though because I think 2011 was that odd 40 man rumble and after that it started getting thin. with 2 belts on the line that essentially 2 extra big names guys that would otherwise lend and air of randomness and have people wondering the results.

While they say the Rumble is used to push a guy that needs a pump, nobody ever wins that not an established guy. Minus hacksaw winning the 1st one (which I dont think had the title shot stipulation) the 3 biggest shock winners are probably Mr. McMahon (made perfect sense story wise through) Mysterio (just because his size) and Shinsuke (WWE hates foreigners or actually any non white guys that are not the rock or related to the rock).

Thought it was one of the greatest Rumbles I've ever seen. Mens match was solid, became fantastic when Nia showed up and ate all those finishers. Thank God Strowman didnt win.Womens match was not as solid as the mens but had an epic finish which the mens rumble didnt have. Becky Asuka was match of the night for me. Really well done. Finn vs Brock was great even though the finish was a bit abrupt. Could have used a few more minutes. Sasha vs Ronda was good. AJ vs Bryan was decent but suffered from crowd exhaustion after Beckys win. All in all a fantastic rumble but if you don't have favourites and are not invested in even a single storyline then its gonna feel like a drag. Honestly i saw the whole PPV live from Nakamura vs Rusev and I didn't feel bored at all other than a few minutes here and there which is pretty normal.

Also Rumble > Takeover Pheonix. Other than Ricochet Gargano and the tag match it was not on the level of a usual Takeover. Great to see WWE also use Black, Gargano and Pete Dunne in the Rumble well rather than rely on 55 year olds for cheap pops.

The pop would have been 10* louder if I walked through that curtain. Yeah, Pete Dunne serviced my car last week.

Finished watching Takeover and it wasn't terrible but didn't live up to the previous takeovers.

Alestair, Richochet, and Undisputed Era all don't have belts and it would shock me to see all on the main roster. Maybe Undisputed era can save whatever is happening with the Raw tag team division. Between the Era, AOP and Revival they could have some great tag team matches and all three teams have different styles. Wishful thinking anyway.

Alestair and Richchet would fit in perfectly on Smackdown feuding with Shinsuke for the US belt. Its obvious they don't think Rusev can carry it.

Intersting Raw. Rousey if she stays after Mania needs a mouthpiece her promo last night was brutal. If she keeps dropping the ball like that the much anticipated/talked about womens main event match at wrestlemania which it feels the WWE is dying to happen will taken be away from them. Lord knows Seth and Heyman will do everything in their power to do so. Even Brock did his part last night by hitting 6 F5s. I'm not the biggest fan of face Seth but apart from Balor he really is the only person over enough.

Big news around the campfires today. Several sources. It seems legit.

Dean Ambrose is leaving WWE at the end of April. Gave notice over the weekend. I hear he turned down a big deal. Past the point of no return in terms of character. Some cruel guys out there but I like this one.

''Leave now if it means Renee is leaving now too.'' lol

Dean is weird to me.

All the potential to a transcendent star but potentially fails to deliver. Dude was on the Stone Cold Podcast and Steve was trying his hardest to but Dean mailed it in. This latest IC belt run fell flat, I'm sure the original booking wasn't for him to do the turn on Seth only for nothing of consequence to happen with it and for him to drop the belt to Lashley.

Seems like it was Deans choice and he will just let his contract expire. Probably exactly what AEW is looking for. Established name still in his prime to lend some credence to the them.

And did renee even say anything during the rumble broadcast beside "Ohh" when some took a big bump off a high spot? Maybe she is leaving and has started mailing it in already.

Anyone else think the Ambrose thing is a work? WWE wouldn't announce him leaving so soon when his contract expires in April. They want him to get big reactions from the fans.

I was a bit concerned by how Ronda was acting during and after that promo and the Bayley match. She seemed rattled. Recovered at the end when she and Becky were face to face. But she seems legitimately pissed that the fans were booing the hell out of her. Hope she doesnt no sell during the Mania match which I think should go on last. Apparently the triple threat with Charlotte is still the plan. SD will be interesting.
