Pro Wrestling - Stars, Feuds, Accidents, Bloopers, Hall of Fame

Did anyone actually watch? Vince has made a new rule that no matches will run through commercials. Curious if it played out that way already.

WWE needs to see this thing through and have Corbin and Evans win the belts at Extreme rules. But it'll be another wasted PPV for Seth very underwhelming title run. And Beckys title run was over before it started. She flamed out around last XMas.

Also by summer slam R-Truth will be 37 time 24/7 champion. I think that would pass Raven for most title runs with a single belt. Raven had to have won that hardcore title like 25 or 30 times.

No fighting during commercials rule. They will surely run out of ideas, some could argue that they ran out of ideas years ago. It was funny, they asked a kid who the best in the world is. Kid answers CM Punk. Did they expect the kid to say Shane McMahon? Well whatever, left interviewer red-faced and not sure what to do. I've been hearing the kid wasn't even trolling, innocent kid said the first thing that came to mind.

I see Ricochet's US title run is off to a good start. Keep your champions strong. Oh yeah.

AJ vs Richochet was a good match but yea. But then have him lose clean to AJ and have the guy he beat for the belt getting ready to lose to Kofi does not look real good.
They could have Gallows and/or Anderson screw ricochet by simply trying to prove their loyalty to AJ and not disappoint him anymore. AJ could have got a cheap victory while working out some ring rust and working on his timing with Ricochet. Ricochet afterwards could have told AJ they did something, Aj could have apologized and said next time there will be no interference. That still lets Ricochet look good in a loss and sets up a potential epic PPV face vs face nothing on the line but bragging rights match with no commercial breaks.

But instead they have him go out and lose clean to guy nobody has seen in a few months. And the powers that be are probably in a meeting at this very moment asking questions like "why do we keep using viewers?" What can we do to get people interested? How many WWE network ssubscriptions are we losing everymonth? How can we make new stars?

Yeah, things like keeping champions strong is one thing I'll always stick my nose in and say meh. At least give Ricochet a couple of weeks of wins against lesser opposition if you want. They have enough shows, a solid 4 or 5 wins before a time limit draw with Styles. That would be me with the booking hat on. If only. :p

pretty weak SD from the sounds of it. Although they are hinting at the possibility of an LGBT angle with Sonya and Mandy. And Kofi and Ziggler had a good match.

Nikki beat Bayley non title (I hate non title) to give Bliss another title match. Setting up the Nikki face turn at some point for her to face off with Bliss probably around the saem time Flair comes back to win bayleys belt. Nikki is easily good enough to be womens champ.

Some weird tag team thing where New day beat Bryan and Rowan non title (again) that meshed into a 4 way (new day and Machinery vs Brayn, Rowan, KO and Zayn) that let KO hang zayn out to dry and machinery win the match. Why not just book machinery vs KO and Zayn.

At least Elias finally won a match. Be even bertter when hes not Shane cronie.

WWE still have the dirty tricks in them. Kenny Omega triggered because WWE will be airing an evolve show during the night AEW is running a charity event show. Deleting tweets seems to be the thing in the world today. He is not happy. Rising to the bait. Good ol counter programming.

They hire WWE guys who go on podcasts and rip WWE and bash a throne during a PPV as a shot triple H and don't expect to receive anything back? Maybe Cornette is on to something in regards to Omega :)

I wanna say this could be huge

WWE TV is about to undergo a major change, as Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff will be running RAW and SmackDown with each working under the new job title of Executive Director.
Sports Illustrated‘s Justin Barrasso is reporting Paul Heyman will become the new Executive Director of WWE RAW, while Eric Bischoff will run WWE SmackDown. A spokesperson from WWE confirmed the news when Sports Illustrated reached out for comment about the changes. According to the report, both will report directly to WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon and the roles are going to be full-time executive positions, with no plans at the moment for it to be a televised angle. The report also indicated Bischoff will work directly with executives from FOX when the show moves to the network beginning on October 4 at 8 p.m. EST.

Fans will remember both have a tremendous amount of experience in similar roles, with Heyman serving as ECW President, while Bischoff ran WCW during the company’s peak in the ’90s. Heyman has been active on WWE TV as Brock Lesnar’s advocate in recent years. Bischoff previously served as an on-air General Manager for RAW and has made sporadic appearances on TV and WWE documentaries, and currently hosts the 83 Weeks podcast with Conrad Thompson.

Update: WWE has also formally announced the moves in a press release issued to the media following the initial SI report:

Stamford, Conn., June 27, 2019 WWE (NYSE: WWE) today announced that it has named Paul Heyman as Executive Director of Monday Night Raw and Eric Bischoff as Executive Director of SmackDown Live, newly created positions reporting directly to WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon.
In their executive roles, Heyman and Bischoff will oversee the creative development of WWE’s flagship programming and ensure integration across all platforms and lines of business. The creation of these roles further establishes WWE’s ability to continuously reinvent its global brand while providing two distinct creative processes for its flagship shows.

With more than 30 years of experience in the sports entertainment industry, Heyman served as President of ECW from 1993-2001, securing pay-per-view distribution for the company as well as a national cable television deal with TNN. After his time with ECW, Heyman joined WWE’s Creative team and is widely credited with helping launch the careers of many current and former WWE Superstars.
Bischoff is a former WCW President and New York Times bestselling author. During his WCW career, Bischoff oversaw the signing of some of the biggest names in sports entertainment and helped create and develop the NWO storyline. He was also instrumental in securing a television deal for WCW Monday Nitro on TNT and WCW Thunder on TBS. After WCW, Bischoff co-founded Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment, a production company that launched TV reality shows and mobile games.

Didn't see that match yet but Bazler has been consistently improving and Shirai was ready to go from day one. I imagine Sirai has one more NXT feud in her before moving up to one fo the big shows and getting lost in the shuffle.
Just heard the same thing online two hrs ago. Should either women move up or is their career better served in NXT? May be time for an NXT Invasion again

Anyone watch the cage match on NXT yesterday?
Smackdown is on deck for me.

Raw was dumb, Sammy and kevin win the tag team titles and are feuding with the koffi, the smackdown champ... Who the hell is writing this stuff? Tag team champs invigorate the tag team division, they are killing the belts.

They have destoryed braun, tug of war, thats why we tune into wrestling...

Nxt uk has gotten really good, i like walter and his new 4 horseman thing, normal nxt is always great. Not sure about these 6man tag team matches but like seeing the pretty boy (forget his name) there, him and velveteen had a great match with a funny story line.

Probably better served by staying down in NXT. But invasion could be interesting. Although I feel they need at least 5 heavy hitters to o pull it off. Shayna, Shirai and Bel Air are as good a three as anything the main roster could put together. But then it falls off. LaRea has good matches but would feel out of place during an invasion angle and they have to leave NXT with something. Whats left in NXT left in NXT? Not much. main roster people would have to switch sides. Sasha switching sides would make perfect sense. But it would still feel a little short.

You were kind of right, but its an AEW show, didnt even know it was on
Forgot AEW Fyghter Fest on B/R Live tonite. Seems like so many of the same wrestlers are on various shows/promtions that compete with the WWE. Even NXT on Tour can become an alternative, competition to the WWE. Did not watch this when the UFC was on ESPN tonite.

Fyter fest was kinda all over the place. Moxley had an unsanctioned no DQ match to close the show with some guy for some reason. Violent match that was uncalled for because they had no history.

In case anyione wasn't aware this event happened at the same time as a big fighting game tournament and fro that reason The elite coming down dressed as Ryu, Ken, and Akuma from street fighter made sense. Having them do hadokens in the match was a bit much, but it makes sense. Perfect jnob by the announcer to annouve "Round 1... FIGHT" at the start though.

I don't think Fyter fest was ever supposed to be a major event, so as just as an extra event thrown into mix I think it served it purpose. That chair shot Cody took was uncalled for, even if the chair was gimmicked, but its grapping a few headlines..

If that was Heyman's first official RAW it was super promising start.

Stated off with a bang and a holy S*#% moment. The AJ made things interesting turning heel with the club. Nikki Cross getting some much deserved shine (potentially). Lacey Evans kinda falling flat.

WTF are the street profits doing on RAW. Those guys as a team are terrible. If its a way to break them apart and let the skinny go off on his own I'm all for it though.

Mike and Maria made an appereance which ended in Mike getting Dis-Arm-Him'd after maria yelled she was pregnant. Maria then berated Mike telling him Becky was the only man around. Weird.

Seems like RAW took the kid gloves off and going Adult-friendly.

SD stared with Shane O Mac. Ownes did his best to save it. Joe is the man right now. ITs a shame he going to lose.

After creating a potential fall out between Bliss and Cross and the debate of Bliss getting the title shot but Cross being more deserving what do they do? Have Cross lose clean to Bayley to ruin it all. If cross had to lose have Bliss interfere or something. WTF.

Raw felt like it Heyman fingerprints all over it, but he had apparently been working backstage for quite a while so was probably ready to hit the ground running from day1. Bishcoff probably needs to be back in the mix and feel things a bit more, why is why SD overall seemed like much the same.
