Demoing PK 7G and liking it a lot! Except looking for little bit more weight, comparable to Wilson RF97 or Yonex Tour G 330, which I demoed earlier and liked.

Is it better to add some lead on 7G or try Ki Q5x or 5X? Q5X seems to have that extra weight that I am looking for, with more $. Anyone tried/own these PK racquets?

I play with the Ki 5x. It's an amazing racquet. It's arm-friendly but feels crisp at the same time. The sweet spot is huge, and the 16x20 string pattern gives me the right blend of spin and control. Even though the stock weight is 11.8 oz strung, it actually feels like about 12.2 oz because of the extra length. It has the plow and stability of a 12+ oz racquet also. The only things I add to it are 1.5" racquet head tape over the bumper, an overgrip, and an O-ring dampener. I've tried adding lead to it before, but I concluded that it didn't really need it.

Thanks; will demo it if I can. Any ideas about Q5X?

Haven't tried it, but it got excellent reviews by TW. I'm not looking to go stiffer, and the Ki 5x gives me plenty of power, which is why I didn't try Q5x myself.

Got the demos in and had a chance to hit with these for a while. You were right on the stiffness.

Stiffness: Q5X > Ki 5X > 7G
Arm friendliness: 7G > Ki 5X > Q5X
Serves: All three are good; Q5X has a slight edge in power.
Plowthrough: Ki 5X > Q5X, 7G
Power: Q5X > Ki 5X, 7G

If someone is looking for arm friendly racquets, 7G and Ki 5X are the best bets (or 5G/Ki 5 regular length equivalents) from ProKennex. Q5X would be a best match for the players who like racquets like APD and Pure Drives, but with arm friendliness.

My preference out of these three is Ki 5X so far. Need to try the regular length Ki 5 as I am still adjusting to the extended length.

So far, the biggest surprise is the Q Tour 295 that I put in for the last empty spot in the demo, for my son to try! It is amazing so far!! Only thing that it is missing is some mass. More testing to be done...

All those three are good and arm friendly. 7G seemed to be best for arm friendliness. Q5X had more power and plow through; fits the modern game style.

Personally I did not feel that much comfortable with the extended length rackets. Tried 5G also; planning to try the standard length Q5 and Ki 5 sometime soon. For now, I am playing with Head Graphene Speed Pro and ProKennex QTour 325 as a backup.

Surprise: My son, not even 10 years old yet, was playing with Junior 26 inch APD racket earlier; he wanted to move to the standard length APD; after trying it myself and looking at the stiffness, I wanted to him to try other rackets. Initially he liked the Prince EXO3 Tour 16x18 and was playing with it for a month or so; one day, he just tried some of rackets that I was hitting with, and liked the PK Redondo Mid; he was playing with it for 2/3 weeks until he tried the PK QTour 325. He liked it so much and it is his main racket now!! Bit heavy for a 10 year old, but he is in training and has proper strokes. I had him try the QTour 295 also, but he prefers the heavy one, at least for now!

Pro Kennex

I had such a hard time making a decision on which to buy, I bought most of them; pro 7gs, Ki 5PSE, Ki 5, Ki 5X, (2) Q 5 295, Q 5 315, Q5X..
My go to favorite is the Q 5 295 which totally surprised me.
(that is way I bought two - one is listed here)
Mainly because I though I preferred, with my timing a heavier swing weight.
But the Q5 295 is a best all around stick I have used.
(i am a certified racquet and string junkie)
>Tennis is such a personal preference sport. You really have to try them first.
Or pick them used and put them to your long term test.
I swing hard. play against some heavy ball hitters, and play a lot. Health Alert: so technique is first, then comes having an arm friendly frame. But I don't want to give up/ sacrifice anything! So with the right tension and the right strings these P.K.s already have a great sweet spot and in opens up more.I nice med-soft colpoy (Double AR Viper 17g) 53 lbs and they sing, pop with great precision> Pine-Sol Fresh and Bacon Crisp!
FYI- Check it out: Also I just listed one of my Q5 295....
CoployX

Demoe'd the 7G and the Ki 5X.

Both sticks were nice. A little too muted for my liking. I suppose I can handle a little more feedback, but for someone with elbow/arm issues, I could see these both as great options. Thought they played pretty similarly. The Ki5x seemed a little more stable and solid, but just barely.

Ended up pulling the trigger on one of the (also in my demo order) Prince Classic Graphite 107s instead.

All: Just curious to know, which of these frames was the whippiest, cleanest swinging of this bunch? I love the 7G, never tried the others.

CopolyX, quite fascinating you ended up liking the 295 the best. Didn't miss the plow of those PK thumpers?

Whippier and easy to swing: Q5 295. Agree with CopolyX; this is one of the best all around rackets.

Compared to 7G, the Q5 295 and 315 give what is called as the modern feeling; bit stiffer and hollower feeling; powerful and very stable. 7G has the plush, the old school feel.
