This is nothing but my curiosity regarding pros’ grip sizes.
One of the recent posts suggests Fernando Gonzalez uses Babolat Pure Control Plus. The grip size is 4 3/8 inches with a layer of Tournagrip. Some previous posts indicate Andy Roddick uses 4 ½ grip with an overgrip, while Gustavo Kuerten prefers 4 3/8 grip (or less). What about other male players like Federer, Agassi, Hewitt, Safin, Gaudio and Coria? Also, what about female pros?
My understanding is the pros, male in particular, tend to go with smaller grip sizes to ease grip change between shots. Smaller grips also allows them to snap the wrist easily while serving.
The topic must have been discussed before but I couldn’t find it. Can anyone provide me a list of pros’ grip size and give me your opinion?
