i thought that might be a 6.1!! thanks for the confirmation @moon shot

I have four Wilson 3.1 classics.
One of them has a white butt cap. I’m told there’s a difference between it and those with black butt caps.
Seldom use them anymore can’t handle the 12.6
Oz weight.

Today a mighty clash is on the schedule. 1hbh vs 2hbh, 16x18 vs 18x20, gut mains vs gut crosses, sechs punkte eins vs seis puntos uno.

Either way one of our own will be advancing.

I'm sure that Sam Groth used a 6.1 with Hyper Pro Staff paint when he played the 2013 JSM Challenger of Champaign–Urbana, but all the photos and video I can find from 2013 show him with a Babolat. The paint job stood out since it was a few years out of date and he seemed to be the caliber of player that could get a sponsorship.

He recently played a match with a wilson 16x20 frame with ultra paint. I’ll keep a look out for other instances if I can find anything.

so any of the modern six.one play/feels like the old PSC 6.1? I have an old 18x20 and I've always loved it, didn't think anything else plays like it today so I ended up with a 2014 PS97 and a 2016 PS RF97 Autograph.

I recommend the K6.1, BLX 6.1 2012, and the BLX 6.1 2014

Just saw this and had to reply. To me the newer 6.1s won't feel like the PSC without customization, for better or worse.

Longer answer: I've been amusing myself playtesting my 6.1 rackets (PSC, Hyper, K6.1, 2012 BLX, 2014 BLX, all 16x18) while recovering from an injury, and the PSC is the only one I'd be able to pick out reliably in a blind test. The others are very sweet hitting rackets and I use them regularly but the stock PSC has very different characteristics from the others - higher swing weight and twist weight, more plow through, lower sweet spot, etc. that I'd guess is due to the overall weight and weight distribution.

Correct - The weight distrobution in the PSC is much different. A lot of weight is concentrated in the lower hoop, resulting in a ton of pop on low volleys and flat groundies

I also try different 6.1 but still like Classic most of all.

That's why it's different. I really like it for flat penetrating shots.

Jay Clarke has switched from the PS97 to a 6.1 18x20 since Wimbledon last year.

Mind slightly boggling ... how does a 20 year old switch to a (presumably) discontinued racquet? I assume that means Wilson still makes pro stock versions?

Loads of other pros used them so they are still in production for them. It doesn’t seem Wilson is as picky about who uses what but does seem to try and get the players the least custom thing they are happy with.

Tons of guys use this under PS97 paint so it probably costs less to make than Dopologov’s 6.0 95 custom drilled.

Such an awesome matter of fact

I just bought a pair from TWE. Not as heavy or powerful as my 2012 BLX version. Interesting enough it does have the Amplifeel strips in the handle. Wilson QC has been good with regard to my past purchases but these 2 from Europe were not matched in terms of weight and balance point

long live the 6.1

What are the main diffs between the ps 6.1 classic and the 6.1 95?

That depends on which 6.1 95 you’re asking about. The ProStaff 6.1 (Classic) is stiffer that any other version, but all generations of the 6.1 have slightly varying stiffnesses.
