Still a fantastic racquet. by all standards
Here's my N-6.1 18x20, a beast of a racquet, and one of the loudest I ever play with
Edit: just found this two pics from one of my 6.1's - still have a classic and an HPS (in 18x20), very beat up, but easy playable condition

far right, my HPS 61 18x20 among other pearls

finally, left side, my two 6.1 classic 16x18, always in the company of other fine bats. I should do a 6.1 exclusive pic- -maybe the pro braided as a guest....

I am just happy to been young, strong and good enough to use them back in the day..
Another oldie but goodie was the Tour 95 and Tour 95 ltd in the bronco paint.. but other generations were not as good..
The 6.1 basically shined in every generation... hence the GOAT honor..

Couldn’t agree more. Was lucky to have the legs and mechanics to allow me to make this frame my main one for about 10-15 years (16 year old me about to uncoil on a forehand in my profile pic)

G.O.A.T.
Didnt Mingus Larsson use it in the 90s?
Think he beat Sampras indoors at the Masters. Series in germany final and pocketed a handsome penny..

keeping a wary eye on Lehecka as the next 6.1 torch bearer but he is erratic. powerful but erratic, like that other former 6.1 user Shapo.

the player picks the stick, but in some ways the stick chooses the player too.

I think Lehecka will work out how to defend with the 6.1, but you're right, he is too aggressive and needs to tame his shot selection a bit.

Also agree the stick chooses the player, the 6.1 is made for the offensive minded player

Been thinking too, might not see any young players coming on tour using the 6.1, likely looking at our last batch of 6.1 players

Like the PS85 and 90 before it, the 6.1 95 may be destined for collector's shelves. Have to enjoy the last few years of the 6.1 on tour!

Lehecka is 21 so have a while left for it still most likely

not the worst loss. Baez had been in good form and this is his second consecutive tournament win.

was surprised and amused to see the 6.1 at last year's NextGen tournament. I laughed, some kid actually picked the old battle ax!

Lehecka's beaten some good players and hopefully he'll figure how to string more wins together.

Evans may be down two sets, but has made the 6.1 95 look pretty viable for the modern game

Just played two incredible defensive points in a row to break alcaraz in the 3rd

Thanks for posting the great collection of champions that have used one of the greatest frames of all time.

You are welcome my friend

They probably should have released this model in 95 as well as 100 if they want to cater to modern era where everyone is looking for a bigger head size.

Maybe Wilson will see our collective dedication to the 6.1 and bless us with another offering.

Or at least the 6.1 Classic 25th Anniversary at a reasonable price.

Guys both of these predictions came true

They made the 6.1 100 & re-released the 18x20 via pro labs

Amazing

The PSC 6.1 is like the leonidas of stock racquets. I mean, the new 97 is basically that racquet just a little bit different in weight distribution. A few tweaks on the retail rf97a in design to make the weight more like the 6.1 and I bet it would be a lot more popular.

I've never met someone who used this 6.1 stick who didn't crush it from the baseline.

They should bring this stick back, it's seriously one of the best racquets I've ever tried, and probably ever available (at least out of the box).

Me neither

I’ve been using the stretch the last 6 months and can’t go back to the 16x19 of modern Wilson’s. Just got me some Pro Stock frames and extended them. This racquet 20+ years later is still one of the best ever.

I know this is mostly an ATP-focused topic* but on the WTA side of things Siniakova won a 3h33m final on one leg, saving 3 championship points.

*probably because no other WTA player uses anything as small as a 95, and there's even some surprise at Ons Jabeur using the Pro Staff 97

Great paintjob but hollow feeing frame. ncode was a big upgrade imo

I think hollow is a fair way to describe relative to other 6.1 iterations. Moreover, I would describe as crisp and more direct. A very noticeable vibration frequency relative to other 6.1 frames. It is amongst the most powerful & best looking though

Paintjobs are prevalent on all professional tennis circuits. Few of them are as widely disguised in different paint as the Wilson Pro Staff 6.1 "Six.One" 95 mold (16x18 and 18x20 variants).

Del Potro famously used the Hyper Pro Staff 6.1 under K-Factor paint from 2007-2015 (8 years!) and in many other paintjobs throughout his career (BLX Pro Open, Burn FST, Pro Staff 97, etc). Roberto BA, Opelka, and Dan Evans among others currently use the Wilson 6.1 95 while endorsing other Wilson frames through paintjobs.

Here, we chronicle the ATP usage of this legendary frame.

TW-Europe: "The 6.1 is a true player’s racket with a proud history on the pro tour. Compared to the Original Pro Staff 85, this stick has a thicker beam, making it play firmer and livelier than many of the classic player’s rackets. Wilson’s braided graphite layup helps the 6.1 Classic retain the amazing feel and response for which the vaunted Pro Staff franchise is known. The 6.1 Classic not only deserves a spot on your wall, but it deserves a spot in your tennis bag."

WILSON PLEASE BRING BACK THE 6.1 to the standard catalog in 16x18, 18x20, and 18x16!
This list displays former and current ATP Tennis Professionals who used the Wilson 6.1 95 mold in some capacity during competitive play. Duration of use varies wildly, with Del Potro using the same frame his whole career and Mats Wilander using the frame for only one year.

*... Thanks to @macattack for the inspiration to create this thread. A special thanks to @moon shot for taking the time to organize each of the players by titles won, time period used, and general strength of talent. All of us 6.1 truthers appreciate that mate. Thanks again. Also, Thanks for the help @Arti, @Seth & @vsbabolat ).
