Hexaspin Twist must be stiffer than Hexaspin. 1.25 holds better than 1.20 (which is as though designed for subtle elbows), don't know about 1.30 but - judging from my experience with 1.25 and 1.30 Stratagem 8 - I suspect it will be as comfy as 1.25 with much less displacement. Anyone tried Strategem 8 1.20?

Checking out Red Devil in the cross. I often use Isospeed Baseline Speed or Spin with a textured poly. Lets see how it goes with Tier One T1 Firewire in the mains

Which Pros Pro multis are better? I see many names out there: Hexmulti, Claycourt Plus, Gutex Ultra, Hot Stuff, Kingut, Pioneer, Hitech Multifiber, Torpedo, Super Gut & Leathal Weapon. That is a lot, with catchy names!!! Anyways, is there a specific one or two that stand out?

Hitech Multifiber stretches the least and holds longer and better. Also very good for hybrids with poly crosses.

I have used Gutex Ultra and Kingut. Both are very stretchy and arm friendly. They stretch so much that during stringing, my dropweight will make a full revolution with each pass. These two lose tension pretty quick, but are very soft. I have also used them in hybrid setups and they work well. My go-to multi is DynaPower, which is durable and comfortable. But like most PP strings, does not maintain tension very well.

It's kind of funny as you mention the names. According to the website, they have many of the same great characteristics and it's hard to choose a product based on their description. That is why I have purchased almost all of them in 12m lengths to try out on my own :)

I've tried Gutex Ultra, Lethal Weapon, and Pioneer. Pioneer is the only one I liked, but I don't regularly use multis.

These angel rackets, where does the Swing weight come out to about ? Website doesn't tell you how much the SW will be after customization. probably because of specs are without strings. but not sure how I can calculate the SW before I buy the frame ?

Hi guys...
I'm new at this forum and tryed to search the forum about this thread but was no lucky...too many threads to go for but no real answer.
So to go back to the topic...
PRO'S PRO STRINGS...
Did anyone use it?If was or is...please tell my about the strings...quality,playability etc.
THANK YOU!!!
P.S.I'm not thinking about certain string (black out, black warrior strings are my interest) but I want to know about the strings overall. :)

I’d been a huge fan of PP strings for very long time. I moved on completely now that I used Tour Bite and Hyper G. Sure the price of PP strings are amazing but they just seem to be missing something. Most felt muted. Every poly PP string I’ve used loses its playability too quickly. Whether that’s through tension loss or lack of snap back. The overall best performer was pppp. Didn’t have the spin I liked but it played well until it broke. If they made it in a shaped version I’d still be using it. YMMV:)

Agreed. I couldn't have summed it up any better. I've played with many types and quality od PP strings. They are exactly as tennisBiest described. That's why I also bought a PP stringing machine. Im stringing every two matches.

I strung up my new-to-me Prince Speedport Tour with Black Out 1.24mm in the mains at 47 lbs and Forten Sweet 1.20mm at 53 lbs in the crosses. Someone back in this thread recommended this combo, and I just so happened to have some Forten Sweet lying around.

I played a couple sets last night and liked how it played. Haven't tried Black Out in a full bed yet, but this hybrid was very easy on the arm. It seemed to have good access to spin and power. I normally play with a gut/poly hybrid in my Yonex Ai98's, and this felt just as comfortable. I will have to report back on how long it continues to play this well.

I also bought a reel of Concept 1.22mm and Pro's Pro Syn Gut 1.30mm. I've got a lot of different combinations to experiment with!

Hexmulti is actually the same string as Dunlop Hexy Fiber. Great for spin. Has slightly uneven response, sometimes feels low powered, and sometimes the ball just flies. It could be due to the fact that the string moves all over the place.

Claycourt Plus is fairly low powered. I like it in a tweener frame. Has some crispness to it. It takes about 30-40 minutes to settle in. Than it plays good. Before it breaks in it is pretty boardy.

Hitech is the same string as Mantis Comfort Synthetic. It is the most controlled multi for me bar none. It is also very muted. It will soften up a very stiff frame, and it pair well with powerful frames like POGOS.

I have all the gauges of Gutex Ultra, and I only like 17 (1.25). It actually feels much thinner, like 1.20 strung. It is a great string for low powered dense pattern frames (mg radical mp, prestige classic, Pure Control 95). Good touch, and controllable power.

I actually hybrid hexmulti (mains) with CC Plus(crosses). That combo works in anything for me. Gives good spin, controlled response and decent power.

IMO, a freshly strung full bed of Black Out 1.24 is as good as any other freshly strung full bed of shaped 1.24 poly on the market.

The problem with Black Out is that it hits a performance cliff after about 3 to 4 hours of use.

So to get the most out of that string, one really has to string their own racquets or have a lot of racquets in the bag.

You can probably answer your second question yourself now.

Which gauges, tension, and how does it compares to other soft polys like istring soft and vendetta that could be used as cross?
Somewhere i read the advice to use intense heat for cross string. I myself find intense heat 1.30 full bed to have a strange feel. At 24kg it is almost too stiff, yet dampened, but dropping of tension rapidly in a few weeks while playing during summer. Doesnt notch however.

Tested:
hexaspin
red devil
black force

black force felt like cyclone. price/performance ratio is fantastic, for anyone that likes to restring often.

red devil initially felt really good for one/two hits and than you don't feel anything.

hexaspin was garbage, cut it after one hit.

is it worth trying black out?

red devil was the same for me. I used in a cross with a textured main. Sounded explosive, played very nice, and then wasn't so great. I do have to check if playing during the day in t-shirt weather versus evening in a warm up jacket temps have anything to do with it. The day time games had better feedback and spin...
anyways...

I've been stringing up Strategem 8 1.25/Hot Stuff 1.30, most recently @48/53, a few times and I can't figure out if I want to spring for the 2 reels. The string bed feels more like the right stiffness when I tap it on my palm than when I bounce a ball on it. When I bounce a ball it is heavenly comfortable and I figure it could take two lbs. tighter. With Strategem 8 being shaped and Hot stuff in the crosses being a multi, this may decrease durability and playability. I'm thinking I may have to get two more sets for tension experimentation. I want to see how 50/55 comes out. Is this too tight on my 95" 18x20 Dunlop Biomimetic 200 racquet?

According to TW, your racquet has a lowish RDC Flex rating (57) and a medium SW rating (322). Your racquet might work nicely with a higher SBS. Might be worth trying 52/56 first and work your way down from there.

I've also added 6g to the handle and 1.5g to mid-racquet. I'll get the two reels after Christmas and try 50/55. I like Black Force 1.14/Pro Stacked 1.20 @51/54 in my signature MuscleWeave. I prefer my strings a little on the loose side. But I've found recently that 17g works better in the Bio200.

Aren't the reels the same cost as ~5 sets?

Edit: Nevermind, since you're hybriding the two sets are significantly cheaper than the two reels

So far I've experimented with a set of Strategem 8 w/ varying crosses. I tried Pro Stacked, Gutex Ultra, and Hot Stuff. I tried the first half set with the first two crosses and the second half set with Hot Stuff. I still have the other 1/2 of Hot Stuff left.

But something just occurred to me. Strat 8/Hot Stuff is supremely comfortable. I'm going to have to figure out how it performs. Otherwise I need to ask myself, do I want to go out and play tennis or do I really want to stay in and snuggle up under a nice comforter?

Karma Tennis recommended 52/56 for tensions for these strings in my racquet. I tried it @48/53. It seemed maybe slightly soft tapping my palm and far too comfortable bouncing a ball off of it. With a margin of 4 lbs. increase in tension, I'll most likely get the two reels without further experimentation.

And I was thinking of getting 3 sets of Black Force for another racquet while I got the free shipping. But the problem there is that BF at $6.70/set x3 is that I'm already halfway to the price of a reel. I guess I'll just throw another $20 at the problem. It's more string than I need, but at least it's string that I like.

Yes to your question about cost of reel
But ime, trying cheap strings is a must, before you comit to a reel, not necessarily due to cost..
I have a couple reels I hate, and now im stuck with all this string I dont wanna use...
test, test, test.. haaa

I don't wanna make your choice harder, but i have a couple reels of pros pro string that I don't like, now im stuck with all that string,,, I should have gone with the test packs in thoes cases... rrrrggg
I just picked up a reel of 18g BF,, I needed a round black poly for cross strings

You might want to try your BF at different tensions. I use it in my signature racquet @51 for the mains, but it loses its elastic feel @50. So If you have a 100" racquet, try the crosses @52.

I felt BF was ok, not much different than some other round polys I had at the time, (for a main string),
but yesterday I strung up my yonex.vcore.dual.g with 17lg topspin.cyber.twirl/18lg pros.pro.black.force, 49/46lbs
im kinda itching to try it soon

The ones I dont like are,
pp.concept 16lg, (dead feel after 1hr of play, too thick for a cross string)
Pp.intense heat 17g, (dead feel, moves around too fast)
Pp.8x 16g, syn.gut (blue/gold, has a powder blue finish that gets on everything, hand, tools, machine, ball)

As far as multis go, I have:
pp pioneer (i like this best, does not loose tension too fast)
pp gutex.ultra (its stretchy, playes like nxt) 2nd best 2pioneer
pp lethal weapon (not good, moves too much fast, but soft, ok in cross

Can anyone comment on pp.hightech multifiber? String movement, tension? If possible compared to pp.pioneer

1HBHfanatic

Legend
Hitech Multifiber stretches the least and holds longer and better. Also very good for hybrids with poly crosses.

I looked at hitech when I bought lethal weapon, same price,, looks like I choose wrong...
I dont like how lethal.weapon moves right away, while as a FB or on mains.
pp.pioneer, or pp.gutex.ultra do not have this issue, or as fast

Have you compared pioneer to hitech?

I've been trying various pp polys (Hexaspin, Red Devil, Puls Power, Cyber Power and Nano Cyber Power) in the past few weeks, so far I have to say I really like Hexaspin the most (1.25 at 42/40 lbs in Duel G 330) so far.

I just feel confident with this setup! The combination of my fast and long swing (power), a heavy racquet (power and amazing stability), poly (good control and a little help in the spin department) and low tension (touch, almost butter ^^) seems pretty good.

Can anyone compare blackout and devil spin?

Devil spin Is harder/stiffer
more coil mem8ry when stringing
maybe a bit more spin, but not enough for mevto order a reel
blackout is 5sided, devilspin gear shape
devilspin moves more than blackout
My suggestion,,, buy single packs and try side by dide for yourself, then buy reel after..
