Pro's Pro Strings!?

okay...i don't really know what string it is but I believe it is Black Out. I got a set from a friend a while ago and just used it recently. I used it with Laserfibre synthetic in the cross at 43/46 in a 2021 vCore 95. I'm pretty happy with it. A bit launchy while at the net trying to get low dipping volleys but I think that is also the racquet that I am not used to.

I may have found another budget poly to stock on. I have only 2 hrs of singles rallying and 1 service game.

Any other Black Out users/fans care to chime in on likes/dislikes?

I'm not familiar with BO but I bought a reel of Black Force. It will be another 3 weeks or so before it arrive.

It may have been from me and if so it was indeed black out.

probably was. do you put masking tape on it to keep it wrapped? what was your take on the string? I'm going to use the other half set in the Solinco 98 probably
Yep that was me. I ran out of zip ties. Lol. Of the 4-5 pp strings I’ve tried I like it the best. I’d like to try their rpm copy, strategem 8.

BO has 5 or 6 sides - but almost circular.
Tension maintenance can be an issue if that is your concern.
I mainly use BF as cross but had a reel of BO (half already gone).

thank you. i heard the same from a friend about tension maintenance. If it's for me, I don't mind re-stringing. If it's for a customer...then that is a concern. Even though all polys loose tension, the significant drop off can be an issue

These will drop faster that other pricier/better polys.
If customer needs power or open to experimenting, nothing wrong to suggest them try.

Eruption vs BO - which one has more power and thinner gauge offering?
They should come up with square string.

IME Black Eruption has more power and is hexagonal but almost looks round, Blackout at the same gauge looks and feel thinner compared to Black Eruption because it is pentagonal.

Strung Red Devil on Sunday and hit with the first time last night and the string broke. It was odd.

I don't mind the long cheap shipping from Europe. I have a half reel of RD left and by the time BF arrives I'll be close to being out.

I hit with red devil 16l in a full bed at 40lbs. It felt soft and powerful over 2 hours of play.

I strung it using a drop weight and it was a pain. It stretches too much even at 40lb.

I've noticed that cheap strings often stretches too much on a drop weight. I wonder if it being stretchy has anything to do with it losing resilience fast as others have complained about with pros pro strings.

softer strings like rd , according to many, can easily be damaged by clamps or worn grommets. Try ordering from Middle east and that would take ages now that Suez canal is blocked.

Good to know. That was first time to string RD in that racquet and like you mentioned the grommet needs to be replaced.

There are no known sellers of these stuff in the ME. EU or USA.

BF is softer than RD. Never had any issues with either one.
Softer strings require careful handling regardless.

If you are in the US, I highly recommend Big T Tennis for Pro's Pro equipment. Very good communication, quick shipping. I have always been satisfied with their prices and customer service.
Their price is better than anywhere else in the US but still more than EU.
You have to buy close to $100 for free shipping.
Their selections are limited as well.

its rather nonsense to avoid all products with plastiziser https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasticizer

It isnt at all a sign of cheap production too. I can use for a year or longer the same plastic bag and it wont get brittle at all because most of its weakener ingredients wont escape just like it doesnt with tennis strings. Think about it, your new expensive rubber tires for your car smell too but they dont get brittle very soon, do they!
I was referring to tennis strings. Numerous products use plasticizers effectively.

My reel of Black Force came today. It only took 2 weeks to get here from EU. Very impressive to say the least.
I've also got a reel of Black Force in the mail! Will you be running it full-bed or in hybrids? Would love to hear your take on it, esp how it compares to other shaped polys you've used.

My adventure with Red Devil continues.

I had been playing with a full bed of it and liking it but wanted a bit more pop and ease of swing as I play mostly doubles. I put RD in the mains and syn gut in the crosses at 55lbs and hated it---way too tight, and having to swing too hard.

Yesterday prior to a match I put synthetic gut in the mains and red Devil in the crosses and loved it. Feel, pop, and spin.

I ordered some Gamma Live Wire variants and tnt2 to try some Multis next for fun.

The Live Wire might be too soft if you like the feel of synthetics. Hopefully it works out. I'd suggest Gamma Fat Core.

People are going to say it will break fast with syn/multi mains. But if it feels good and you play good...then why not.

No worry on the breakage, I own my own machine and resting very often out of boredom and experimentation.

I've liked Live Wire XP in the past so I figured I'd give it a go. Truthfully, I think I play about as good with any of them these days, but that darn placebo effect. :)

Good to hear about syn gut/poly. I actually just restrung my Vcore 97HD with that setup. I have Babolat syn gut in the mains with RD in the crosses. Hopefully I'll get to hit with it over the weekend.

My current go to is syn gut mains and poly crosses. Syn gut breaks before poly goes dead. Gives plenty power along with spin and control and nice touch for net play.

I string syn gut at 26kg and poly crosses at 21kg in prince warrior 100 pro

Kirschbaum SG and Oehms Poly in my VCP97HD, perfect setup for this racket (at least for me). 21kg/20kg

Yes I agree about Big T Tennis. Very fast shipping up here to Canada too:) I have ordered a lot of string from them and am very pleased with their prices, communication and shipping as well. I'm a big fan of Pros Pro strings. I string my own racquets along with those of few friends and club members. I would never pretend to be the kind of player who can detect the slight nuances between string brands. What I do know is that Pros Pro strings give me a wide variety of options at a very reasonable price with very good quality. I have tried other string brands but after using Pros Pro, I would never pay $150-200 for a 600' roll of string. Of course some guys bring me packages of string whether it's ALU or whatever for their racquets, but I am not going to buy those kinds of strings for myself.

I play with the silver Ichiban and lately the string lost to much tension in less than 2 hours so right now for me is like:
1st hour: Boardy
2nd: Amazing
3rd: First 30 mins wobbly and unpredictable, then in the next 15 or 20 mins is broken so I will look for other shaped poly options where I can get at least the same time of stable playability. Hopefully cheap or I will go to Solinco TB or Confidential

- i would provably string the y.HD with full bed poly, 17 or 18g pp.red devil at 39lbs!
-curious, what tension do you play the y.HD at??

I did a FB of poly (Volkl Cyclone Tour) at 47 and it's powerful. I've been messing with strings. Currently hitting with syn gut in the mains at 53 and rd poly in the crosses at 50. I'm liking that hybrid so far. I've only had one hitting session but have a match tonight so I'll see how that goes.

here's a half Pro's Pro Hybrid that i really like... Blackout 16G/ Gosen Micro 17 Natural with crosses at +2lb difference... that feel is so money...i tried with Blackout 16Lg and you would think the feel would be better but it wasn't the case...

I have tried this very same hybrid but it does not work for me, the synthetic gut notches too fast and does not allow the mains to slide creating a boardy stringbed. I find a slippery poly cross to work best. As always YMMV.

Pros pro aramid is one of the softest strings around.

It works great as a cross and doesn't notch the mains and lasts a long time

Today I know, Plus Power is Plus Power Nano as printed on MY reel, after using it for 12 string jobs. Neither the official site nor the depot call this string nano, though their photos do display the sticker like what I have in hand.

Was there ever Plus Power vanilla?

Hi
I’m 45 yrs old player ex 5.0 in Europe
I’m using head velocity main and luxilon element crosses. I love the feel / spin / confort for my arm but it snap in 2/3 hours max.
I’m about to buy a stringing machine and would like to buy 2 similar reel from pro’s pro.

1) A multi with a lot of control / low powered like velocity
2) A copoly soft and spin friendly like element

What should I order from Pros pro ? Durability is not an issue.
Most important = control - confort - spin -
Thanks a lot
