Are there any notable examples of pros wanting one piece string jobs specifically? If so, why?
Plenty of the Futures level players I used to string for would respond with “1-piece” or “2-knots” when I took their first racquet order.
The obvious reason is improved tension maintenance and a more uniform stringbed tension. Outside mains on 2-piece, no matter how good your technique, will leak tension through the two tie-offs. Some players will like that forgiveness though. It then becomes a matter of their preference.
I always avoided stringing crosses from bottom up when the 1-piece pattern dictates that direction by using a modified ATW pattern. A few guys watching my stringing process would question the technique but universally responded to me after playing with the stick that it was a GOAT rendition. Exit day for these “fans” of mine became busy because they would give me a whole bag of their sticks to do before heading to the next tournament.
There are clueless people in every walk of life and at all levels. There are also some young players on the way up that are naturally bright.Wow. I'm surprised the futures players would be that conscious given lots play with stock frames with no customisation. Are some clueless?

What a strange response to my post.

Yes, if the player seeks more forgiveness from the reduced tension at all four extremes of the stringbed. Is the rationale behind the 1 piece string job being more uniform because in a 2 piece, the main can lose x amount of tension while the cross lose y amount of tension?
All being equal, assuming same cross string and same tension, is there any playability advantage to 2 piece string job?

Not everyone can be as well versed in the intricacies of top level equipment as the 3.5 players in this forum!Wow. I'm surprised the futures players would be that conscious given lots play with stock frames with no customisation. Are some clueless?
are you assuming that, in a 1-piece string job, tension loss in the mains will be transferred to the crosses, thus leading to more even tension loss?
this is not the case. The friction in the grommets is way too big for this type of movement.
As a rec player it does not matter if you pick one or the other. At least not for reasons of playability or to have less knots or something.I was asking. Not assuming anything because I don't know!
As a rec player who drop off their racquet in a shop for stringing. Say if I'm string a poly at a constant tension. Should I ask for 1 piece or 2 piece?

Not everyone is as advanced as the TTW idiots that think they can feel 1 gram of difference and it affects their game to the point it costs them a shot at the pros like it did to the folks here.Wow. Rafa is 2 piecerafa ofcourse
“Listen man, I need the swingweight okay?!”At the ITF I strung for, the majority of players using one string wanted 4-knots. Reason? Their coach told them to. (I asked)
I’m guessing you think Rhode Island is a reasonably small state!I recently (grass court tournaments) strung for Mr Mikahel Kukushkin. He is a one piece ATW 18x20 with reasonably low tension
