Prostaff 97 CV switch?

I noticed that the CV PS97 had a lower power rating and that the 2106 PS97 has a higher power rating than the older PS97. The power rating of the 2016 PS97 was close to the RF97.
I added about 6 grams from 11 to 1 o'clock and it vastly improved the power and only trimmed off about 1 pt of h/l balance. I love the stick!

I just finished demoing this racquet (coming from the 2015 PS97). I didn't have any problems with it, though it did seem a little soft. But to be honest, I don't know how much was the racquet and how much was the strings they put on it.

I am in my 50s, strike the ball pretty hard, and wondering if I'd be better off with a CV racquet at this point. But a week is not long enough to get a real good feel for it.

My question is for anyone who moved to the PS97 CV and has had it for a while, did you notice any change in your arm after using it for a while? (i.e. less soreness, less elbow pain, less discomfort, whatever).
The Pro Staff 97 CV solved all of my shoulder issues. I added about 5 to 6 grams from 11o'clock to 1 o'clock and found increased power and stability to almost match the RF Autograph. I didn't need to offset the added weight to the handle as the racquet already comes around 8 pts headlight (the weight I added brought the h/l balance down to 7 pts which is still good for me). I even added a dampener and it feels rock solid. Many players don't like too muted of a feel but I don't seem to have a problem with it. I have it strung with NXT power 17 ga and have zero problems getting lots of topspin and feel with this setup. For me, performance wise, the racquet plays similar to the RF Autograph but without any vibrations and minus the harsh stiffness feel. The CV frame is also more flexible therefore adding even more comfort and allows you to string the racquet looser to compensate for less power. Adding extra weight to the hoop greatly brings the power back up. I love the racquet but most of the TW test team did not. The racquet plays entirely different when adding weight to the hoop and stringing it a little more loosely.
Good luck.....

On the other hand, the CV also plays brilliantly with high Head Light Balance (10 Points) and high tension Poly string. Player just needs to have very long very fast strokes. The control potential is amazing.

Only caveat is that with the high tension poly config, have to restring more frequently. But it is pure magic.

The PS97 CV is a great racquet, I tested all the PS97 versions from normal ones to even the autographed one, but I like the CV the most.

It has a nice unique feel slightly less stiff and more muted than the normal stiff PS97's, which is good, also less stress to ur arm, elbow and shoulder.

It has nice feel and touch, nice spin and good power, and I can place the ball well with it, it really has no real weaknesses for me, serves are nice as are volleys.

Im using a shaped poly main (Volkl V torque tour 17g) at 53lbs and smooth poly cross (Wilson Revolve 17g) at 51lbs and it plays wonderful!

So, just reviving this thread a little. The recommendation of V-Torque Tour with Revolve Cross is an excellent one on this racket. I found V-Torque to not play that great when strung in a full bed, but the Revolve makes it more predictable and still has great spin.

I actually have just tried something and love it to. Lux ALU Power Rough in the mains (16L), with Big Hitter Silver (16L) in the crosses. 48/46. Works great too! (the BHS saves money) and it still has that ALUPR feel.

I like the non-cv because it was stiff like the RF97. I think for someone who really likes the RF97 but needs something a touch lighter the non-cv is a great option. I can understand if you have arm issues and need to move to the cv version for comfort too.
