Prostaff 97 V14

I am a relatively high level junior singles player. My go-to stick has been the prostaff 97 v11 for a few years until 2021 when I switched to the v13 model. I really enjoyed the v13 and played my best attacking tennis using this racket. When I cracked my last v13 last week, I decided to give the v14 a go. After a few days of playing, it feels extremely dampened more than I would like and has produced a lot more mishits than I am used to. I feel a lack in power and control compared to all of the previous pro staffs I have used. Should I use it a little longer and try to get used to it and is this feeling about the v14 relatively common for the pro staff users out there?

Sounds like you got an under spec frame with a low swingweight. The V14 "if on spec" produces the heaviest ball any Pro Staff has ever been able to produce. I've been playing with the Pro Staff now for 15 years. And this V14 is definitely the most powerful version with the new polarized approach that Wilson has decided to take

As already mentioned it can be a challenge with Wilson to get consistent specs.
It might be worth your while testing Pro Staff demos from a shop or someone else’s racquet to feel if they play differently to yours:
I’m not usually a Wilson player but I like the V14 in that it feels more refined then in the past and actually remind me of past PK Q Tours ( 325).
My last favourite PS was the Tour 90 with the predominantly black paint and splashes of yellow and red on the inside of the hoop.

And how does it play compared to v13 ?

My 322sw unit felt lower powered BUT felt way way nicer than a V13 or any previous PS97 which felt more like 97si Babolats.

Bumping it back to 331sw (added all the weight at 12 - 2.5g) gave me all the power of the V13 but with so much better feel and is better at basically everything than the V13 was.

Anyone who has the Paint excuse should gobble up the NOIR editions that are about to release. They look HOT.

How would I go about fixing this? Lead tape or a what?

Try adding 3 grams of lead to the tip of the racket. And I'm assuming you use an overgrip which would weigh about 5 or 6 grams. If not, pop off the butt cap and add 5 grams in the bottom of the handle. Try that setup and let me know how it goes.
