proton tennis ball machine

That's why I like my Spinfire Pro 2 which comes with a really small remote that controls everything on the machine. I don't want to run around the court with a heavy smartphone in my pocket, nor does my daughter who is not even 10 yet. Plus I have had enough cracked screens by dropping it. With the Spinfire's remote control there is no need to unlock the device, get to the app, click buttons etc.

that's actually neat
only see this level of randomness in the more expensive machines, like the playmate green machine that my club has
if the price is right, they should sell well.

I can't wait until I get my hand on the proton. The app on the proton is so much better than lobster Elite V Grandslam machine and the proton costs less than half the lobster elite grand slam V,

So you set this at 3000 RPM setting, then you can feel like what's like to play against Nadal topspin.......... this ball machine is bargain if it can do all it saids it can do and be reliable and not break down all the time.

Would much rather leave the phone on the ground, right at the center stripe of the net, but on the other side. Finish up with an overhead or volley on your last rep close to net, reach down for your phone and stop the drill. Not a good idea to be drilling on a tennis court with an expensive smart phone in your pocket imo.

Well, who says it has to be an expensive smart phone? It's not using cellular service, is it? A lot of us have old iphones in a drawer, or we could pick one up cheap.

But yeah, I agree, I'd rather have a small dedicated remote... I think. On the other hand, app updates can be pushed out easily to a smart phone.

I know, it's just common for companies to let people do reviews before a release.
Sign me up I am available..;)
I am worried about that front screw thing that moves with direction/elevation change.
Well will find out soon enough if they ship out on time...

one of my updates noted their might be another pre-sale sometime in October.

the latest updated stated a end of October that they will start to ship out...
i think they are still testing the machine to make sure it's working well. really hope they have presale prices again. i am going to get one for sure

have you talked with them ? i hope the production is going smoothly and not having issues. Initial production is always the toughest. and you have to put the machine thru through test to make sure it will stand up to heavy use

FYI, in the latest update it looks like they've been testing different locations for the Proton placement to get different types of feeds. I think the one at the service T could be dangerous if you're smacking forehands or overheads. But I absolutely do appreciate the different angles and not having to tinker with speed/spin/height to get a feed in the general area. I assume the "Max height" toggle will essentially feed lobs into the target area.

MSRP $1595 ?!?!
Don't cry, you can always get it with payment plan with 3rd party or credit card. It is well worth the price point. With NEW AI tech and space age electric motor, this is a ball machine with new Break thru Tech packed in. They could have sold it for $5000.

That is Awsome. They also said they are working on making the machine be able to raise itself off the ground to 5-6 feet above the ground and make it Serve you balls that are 3000RPM spin serve balls with big time pace. 1st delivery is set for end of October. Can't wait to get one.

I hadn't heard of that feature, but I have always wanted to ride on a hovercraft, maybe I'll finally get my wish come November.

Wait what? 5-6 feet off the ground!
That's not happening... unless he's working with one of the flying car companies... 8-B
That screw thing for oscillation is already a weak point in the machine IMHO.
disclaimer: I have a preorder in.

there is some type of adaptor for that screw thing. otherwise it will punch a hole in the court, and that wouldn't be so smart would it ?

Yea, i do agree that screw thing that front of the machine sits on looks bit risky, could make a hole in the court ?? They must have some kind of adaptor for it to sit on ?? Not sure ??? will have to ask hydrogen sports. lol

you can just put a quarter under the screw thing...
LOL,, yea but if you do, it will slide around on that quarter, and make the base unstable, and mess up the feeds or machine may even fall over. I understand why it is a screw like because it has to go up and down by retracting it in and out. but why is there no rubber base ??

Oh i get it,,, if you have a rubber base, Screw can't turn to retract. All you mechanical Engineers out there,, How can we solve this problem ?? i am just afraid my club won't let me use it on their court, if that metal damages the court ?

A water bottle screw top would probably work, but I imagine Proton will have a small "shoe"or pad with the final product.

I am not going to worry about it. The designer/founder of the Proton is also a tennis player. I am sure he has other "regular" tennis people providing feedback with regards to the Proton. It will be a good product. I think it will give Spinfire and Lobster a run for the money.

obviously it will blow away spinfire and any lobster. but that screw has to turn in order for the machine to go up and down. it has to sit on sit on independent base with separate base that will enable the screw to turn. That base has to be separately made

Now I have to carry a quarter with me to the courts too!?
I thought the whole idea of this machine was to lessen the load...

Also, I wasn't thinking about the courts but the machine itself.

BTW how do I get on the user testing for this contraption? Would love to.

I also have three pre-orders for the Proton. My brother in-law also has a preorder in. I am going to keep one. I am going to give one to a coworker of mine, and I am going to give one to the local boys and girls club here in my area. Just the design alone of the Proton is worth the money. It looks so futuristic. The proton CEO/founder used to work for Apple, and that's why the Proton has a cool look, just like the iphone.

Proton looks like a Tesla while Spinfire/Lobster look like a cheap Ford Focus.
