PS3 owners: Are you read for Metal Gear Solid 4?

Ok, to all the PS3 owners out there, are you guys ready for the Metal Gear Solid 4. I know it's only the beta but I'm a huge fan of the series. From all of the trailers and game play that I have seen I think this game is going to be huge. This kinda makes up for the fact that they pushed back Playstation Home til the fall but I'm sure it will be worth it.

I still think the original MGS1 was the best, remake was flashy and all, but it wasn't the same (Never mess with a soundtrack that works)

MGS IV might be what finally sways me to buy a PS3. I was waiting until Resident Evil IV came out, but it's been pushed back til next year. I don't play a lot of games anymore, but MGS is one of my favorites.

There just don't make many good action/adventure like this anymore since FPSs became popular.

I've put a few hours into the online beta and can safely say that MGS4 will sell some consoles. Great game and I cannot wait for the single player. Finally a game to make me put aside my 360 for a bit.

I sincerely hope you are referring to the absolute trash that most Hollywood movies out their are, as opposed to thinking MGS has a reasonable plot. Neither merits commendation.

It's a good thing Mgs4 comes out this summer, between tennis and school i'd have no time fo rit.

however, i've only ever played mgs3:snakeeater.

It will (probably) have absolutely *nothing* on Wii Fit lifetime sales. It will probably be more front loaded (hardcore, irresponsible, impatient gamers, along with the fact that it's a bit easier to spit out DVDs and Blu-Ray over a hardware peripheral), but I would bet that by the end of the year, Wii Fit is ahead, and it will continue to pull ahead for the long term.

In terms of critical acclaim... GTA will see far better reviews in the gaming press, but Wii Fit will have *people* to sell it. Imagine if Oprah gets her hands on it and mentions it on her show...

i know dude, Oprah says one thing, and like 1/2 the country is like o yea lets do it.

i'm pretty psyched about GTA IV but lately i've been spending so much money and i'm trying to slow it down but this game just seems like its gonna be amazing. plus i need to get mario kart for wii also.

Imagine if GTA IV went on Oprah and she rasied a big hulla-balloo about the sexism in the game. Women/women's lobby groups around north america would rise up and rally together and get the game removed from store shelves (particualrily because of the prositution in the game & stripper lap dancing in the game).

The Nintendo Wii and Wii fit is more of a fad than anything. I know plenty of people who bought the Wii and played it for a bit and now it is collecting dust in the closet. I mean there are only so many Mario Karts, Donkey Kongs, Smash Bro. and Zeldas they can come out with. And I have no idea what the hell the big love afair with GTA is. I see nothing appealing about that game at all.

Yeah, it sucks that they are delaying this yet again. But I have no doubt that when Playstation Home comes out it will be HUGE! And it's FREE.

I decided to not play any metal gear game until I beat the original.



I will never beat the original becasue anyone who wants to play video games is gay, and probably can only bowl a 37 like Obama, and probably sucks at basketball like Obama.


Did I metion Obama bowled a 37. a thrirty freakin seven. McCain can beat that and he cant even use his arms for christ sake.


serious though I havent played vid games in about 2 months. weather started gettin nice so more tennis less games. Have fun with that game though I heard they are good.

The Wii is the only console dominant across the globe; PS3 and 360 are both weak in Japan (360 moreso), PS3 is weak in America. In America, the Wii sold more software in its first 13 months than the 360 sold in its first 14 months (due to larger installed base for the respective periods)... and now the Wii is selling more on a month to month basis as well, despite still lagging slightly in installed base (in the US). Looking at the Wii as anything other than a groundbreaking success is unreasonable.

Oh, and this is before Wii Fit.

Hey, I know the numbers are in favour of Nintendo now. No, I don't work for Sony. I used to own an Xbox 360 but got tired of going to the store every other month to get a new one and getting nickle and dimed by Microsoft for every little thing. As for the Nintendo well, yeah they are kick arse and taking names right now. But this whole console thing is more of a marathon and Nintendo and Xbox are running a sprint. I think in the long run Sony will come out on top. Like I said, they have Mario Kart, Mario World, Zelda, Smash Bros. rinse and repeat. That stuff will get old after a while, trust me. My brother has a Wii when he was crashing at my place and sure it was fun for about a 2 weeks then but then that thing got boxed up and put away. I fully believe that is a fad. I'm not falling for the whole motion sensor controller thing. Ever heard of the power glove? Same deal but they improved it and got people to fall for it, but not me. Maybe I am putting too much stock in PS Home but that in addition to all of their exlcusives that will be out this year sure makes the PS3 an attractive buy.
