This thread is somewhat of a continuation of the above discussion in the For Sale/Trade section (without filtering/lag time).

The new "Z7156" stock numbered set do NOT fit the St. Vincent PS85, nor do they fit any other PS85. They are identical to the b/g set for the PSClassic6.1 MP!!

I would bring this to the attention of the Tennis-Warehouse Staff. If it is really a G/B set for the PC6.1 and not any Pro Staff 85.

Those grommets that wilson gives out are not for the Vincents.

The only grommets I have ever been able to fit on any vincents I have had>>> and I have owned many, are the ones with the 22D 1615 code on them.

The bumperless version also has the 22d 1615 code on them, but obviously they are different.

This is one of the reasons I keep all of my cracked frames. So I have the spare parts. :)

That's really interesting. According to my memory, no bumperless grommets that I've seen had any codes molded on them, at least not "22D 1615," unless it was possibly on the inside. I've seen at least a couple of different bumperless strips that came from slightly different grommet molds. Perhaps the bumperless frames you saw had retrofitted "22D 1615" side strips with some kind of aftermarket strip on top as a third strip? From the factory, the frames came with just two side strips that met somewhere at the tip, but not exactly in the middle. One strip was longer than the other, I supposed because the 16-main pattern might have allowed the ends of the strips to not seat correctly and to protrude.

Hey Prestige, the grommets for the bumperless version have 22D 1615 on them. I also have a replacement pack (un-opened) from wilson that have the 22D 1615 on both strips. I have owned a couple of these packs and they were all the same.

However, I did look at all my bumperless racquets and noticed one of them has the strip with no markings, unless as you said the markings are underneath.

Additionally, as you said one strip is longer than the other. I will post some pics of the unopened pack tonight.

Hi drakulie,

This "pack" that you have, does it have the stock code "Z7144" stamped on it like in this picture (the packs on the lefthand side):

No, it states>>> "T4824PK". Underneath it states>>>> "PRO STAFF MS GROMMETS".

I'll post some pics tonight.

None of my bumperless Chicago nor SV have the "22D..." code on the grommets. One side is -slightly- longer than the other since one side will cover both 1H holes. This prevents the 2 grommets meeting at the very top of the racquet.

This is interesting. I only have one that does not have the code on it. I hadn't even noticed it until prestige brought it up. One more variation in the PS85 for me to make a note of.

Yes, all of mine are like this. Two pieces with one piece being longer.

Here are the photos of the bumperless grommets. Sorry if they are not too clear. They are in the original plastic bag, and I did not want to open it. Hopefully, everyone could see the 22D 1615:

Bigfoot has been sighted. Are the included throat grommets the matching older more-convex type? Must be.

Actually, the throat throat grommets are not the same as the ones found in the Chicago's. >>> The really rasied ones.

Another note is the printing on the bag. Note that it says Pro Staff "MS" and not "Mid Size".

By the way, both strips in the bag have the 22D 1615 molded on.

drakulie, do you know where I can buy those grommets? (bumper/bumperless versions) or you selling it? airvincent@yahoo.com

I don't know where you could find them anymore. They pop up from time to time on the big auction site.

Unfortunately, I am not selling the ones I have. They are part of my collection, which is why I never opened the bag.
